Pretty sad day in America when some people gloat over the death of a 12 year old boy.

I didn't follow the case too closely, regardless there are no winners here. If we have children even placing themselves or others into this situation, we are already losing as a whole.

Some are hoping for violent protests just to confirm their own little beliefs.

Ah, so you don't care what the actual law is, gotcha. Well that explains why you are so often wrong when it comes to these matters. What "the government thinks is a crime" is really all that matters, they write the laws, we have to abide by them. Your random thoughts on cases really don't matter at all, especially since you admittedly know very little about the law and care even less about what the law actually is.

Ah yes, youtube warrior, I'm sure what you saw was the best video possible. There's no way that there was an enhanced version out there that the grand jury saw that shows exactly what the officers said happened.

You know there is a criminal charge for killing someone due to negligence. It's called MANSLAIGHTER.

Not following common sense procedure that leads to a death usually can be considered MANSLAIGHTER.

Lol, such a simple thinker. So if strict gun legislation is passed I hope you just nod your head and say "Okay, that is completely fine with me!"

You are the person that thinks it's okay for black people to be killed by LE. The only time you said the cops were in the wrong was with the white guy in Texas. Otherwise you come flying in to defend officers for accidentally killing black people. Every single time. When their is a post where the cops are obviously wrong you stay FAR away from the thread, along with bigtexxx. Funny how that works out...

Yep. This doesn't apply to cops though, which is a problem. When they are admitting to accidentally killing people then you know it's gone too far.

    Probably.

I've noticed that some white Americans have a "push-pull" relationship with black Americans.

I would be arguing for a change in legislation, not simply ignoring the law.

I don't take the race of the person involved in the shooting into account at all....that's where we differ. To you, all that matters is the race of the person shot, to me all that matters is the facts of the case. Micheal Brown deserved to be shot and that was a completely justifiable use of force, in the case of Laquan McDonald it was murder. I know to you it's just 2 black people dying and that's all that matters to you, but to me one is murder, one is justifiable use of force.

You've got some serious issues when it comes to race, you should probably see someone to try and work through them.

There absolutely are different rules for cops than for civilians....if you knew anything about the law, you'd know that. Even with that said, and accidental shooting can be deemed justifiable depending on the facts of the case even if it was a civilian.

I don't know what police protocol is in these situations but im assuming its not rolling up like a bat out of hell 3 feet away from the person with a gun. If these cops had distance between them and this kid, distance enough for them to actually warn him to put down the gun, and he reached for the pellet gun then this shooting in my eyes would be completely justified *with no recourse. There is a small number of bad cops and there's a number of cops bad at their jobs. These cops seem to be bad at their jobs. These cops need to be charged with manslaughter. They literally gave this kid no chance. I don't think it was intentional but these cops are ****ing idiots and the rules that apply to normal citizens need to apply to them. I think that's all that anybody is asking. A justified shooting and manslaughter are not mutually exclusive.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Don't usually post in the D&D. I just come here for the texxx troll posts lol

Actually, they are mutually exclusive. If something is justified, it's not manslaughter.

I agree that rolling up that close was a mistake, but I disagree that the kid had no chance, he puts his hands up or does literally anything other than reach for his pellet gun and he's just fine. It was just a crazy combination of factors that led to this tragedy but none of them are criminal.

If the dispatcher relays that the person who called it in said that it is "probably a toy", the cops probably respond differently, if the Cops had pulled up further away then maybe things go differently, if the kid just put his hands up instead of reaching for the gun things go differently, if the kid's parents don't buy him a gun that looks that realistic things go differently, if the parents were watching their kid instead of letting him roam the streets with a super realistic looking gun things probably go differently.

Due to the way everything went down and the laws on the books, there's really no recourse here. It's just an unfortunate incident.

    1. Blame the "myth" of the Liberal media
    2. Justify lethal force against a 12 year old.
    3. Fail to understand that the murders of young African American men is a huge problem.
    4. Defend yourself against criticism in a thread you started to bait logical, decent people.
    5. Fail to understand that a 12 year old boy is a 12 year old boy, and not the street thug you hoped for.
    6. Rinse, repeat.

Oh wait, I forgot, insert your corny narrative before you post your article .

This, folks, is called the Desperation System.

I'll tell Obama and Hillary that delusional thinking still exists.

Don't have an edit button but i fixed it as you were posting this i guess. Yes the circumstances are sad but these are grown ass men that are supposed to be held to the highest standard. They are supposed to know better than to roll up next to a perp 3 feet away when he has a gun. This was a 12 year old kid. Is he reasonably expected to know what to do in the 2 seconds when a cop races up to him and jumps out and shoots?. You need more than 2 seconds to process the correct course of action im sure you would agree, especially when you're only 12 years old. This whole set of circumstances, is not on these cops. All the factors you listed, they had no control over. They did have control over driving like maniacs at a 12 year old kid and giving themselves no space to control or attempt to control a situation. They left themselves only one option. That's my argument. They should be held accountable like any normal citizen. They are bad at their job and because of it a kid is dead.

Immature thinking. Didn't you say one time that you're a teacher? You have to learn how to use logic, bud. You continue to try to oversimplify matters to the point of arriving at wrong conclusions, but conclusions that fit the narrative you want to be true. I would recommend you expose yourself to smarter people in your daily life -- better thinkers who can improve your own ability to think and reason. Hopefully they can rub off on you and improve your abilities.

#1 The media follows the flow of money, they love controversy and the attention that follows. That is not always "liberal" or "conservative", its goal is to polarize.
#2 He was 5'7" and 190 lbs; the officers did not know that he was 12 years old.
#3 It is a problem, and has been a problem for a long time. However that concern extends far beyond police shootings. However solving the problem is complicated so it is a lot easier to concentrate on a police shooting than the poverty in the black community, poor educational opportunities and the number of shootings/killings of black people by other black people.
#4 It is a complicated subject with lots of assumptions and overtones.
#5 A 12 year old boy is a 12 year old boy, and it is a tragedy. However he was 5'7" and 190 lbs and the message conveyed to the police was someone had a gun. Several people had warned him not to play with a pellet gun with the orange tip gone. He had been waiving the gun around. The officers obviously decided they were not going to risk their own lives and shot as soon as he went for his waist. Does the requirements need to change? Probably. Would they have shot him in a wealthy area of town? Maybe not, we don't know. Would they have shot him had he been white? We don't know.

Personally I think there is a whole lot going on in this situation. There is a level of callousness from the police department. There is a situation where you have officers going into a dangerous situation and not wanting to be shot, so they are trigger happy. We live in a world where guns are so readily available that the police are paranoid of being shot.

Hence why driving RIGHT UP TO THE SUSPECTED ARMED INDIVIDUAL is the most idiotic and non-common sense approach to deal with this type of situation to a point where a alleged trained officer should be charged with criminal negligent manslaughter.

I can actually personally attest to this. When i was 19, out with some friends, cops pulled in front of us and jumped out with guns and pulled all of my friends out of the car. They forgot about me, i sat and thought for a good 10 seconds on whether or not i should get out of the car. I had to weigh the possible outcomes. If i got out of the car, i would probably be shot bc they legitimately forgot i was in there and had guns out. If i had moved a little too much they might notice and start shooting into the car. So after processing this, i opted to remain completely still. This course of action led to them finally noticing me and running to the window and putting a gun to my head which led to another 5 seconds of which way to proceed other than to not move. This is all true. I've never been arrested. We just 'fit the description' that night. The point being, that i was 19 and not a 12 year old kid and i still needed time to process a deadly situation and how to correctly handle it. Surely you can't blame this kid for the negligence of these officers. They gave him no time to process anything.

What was the context of why the police stopped your car in the first place?

So am I. Who is ignoring the law? I'm saying the law is wrong when LE continues to face no punishment for this mess. When accidentally killing folks is just part of the job I say that's BS. You're cool with it though as you've shown many times that you have little respect for life.

Completely false about me, try again. I actually never took the side of Michael Brown, if you can find a post where I did then please be my guest.

You've got some serious issues when it comes to race Bobby, (and I'm not the only one here that thinks so...) you should probably see someone to try and work through them.

My stance on this has been the same in EVERY case of police brutality. It's gone too far.

The reason it seems why "Oh he's always commenting on blacks!" is because nearly every week there are cases of it happening to black folks. The case I mentioned today of a 55 year old being killed accidentally by a cop and a 19 year old honor student.

This country has let it gone too far, in no other country is it this bad. Some of us are lames and settle for mediocrity but some of us are progressive and would like things to improve. Thank us, for without us we'd still be in the dark ages.
