    This kid won't spend anything close to 10 years in prison .. I knew a guy that only spent around 10 months on a 10year sentence ... Depends on the amount of so called good time prisoners receive and how crowded the system is at the time . I'm guessing he'll be back behind the wheel in 3 years or so

    Yeah, this was a rich b**** and there's no way she'd go to a less obvious (read poor) country like Guatemala or Haiti. Now the fun begins...

    Judge was smart to give him the sentence she did. Otherwise he would be out now. There was no way he was going to be able to follow the terms of his probation for ten years. Now he'll be tried as an adult.

    Lol, a good slimy expensive lawyer (like the one that presented the affluenza defense) could have defended against the charge of probation violation based on the video that leaked.

    They could have claimed that the teenagers were drinking iced tea.

    Sheriff Anderson says Couch and mom had "something akin to a going away party" before driving to Mexico.

    TC Sheriff: intelligence suggests they drove their truck to the border after a going away party.

    Sheriff says Couch planned escape to Puerto Vallarta, where they would blend with tourists. Warrant now issued for Tonya Couch.

    DA: Tonya Couch will be charged with hindering apprehension

    @TarrantCountyDA Wilson says a Jan 19 hearing to transfer #EthanCouch from juvenile to adult court

    DA Sharen Wilson: max Ethan could face if transferred to adult is 120 days in jail, then out on probation again. But if he violates adult probation, he could be sent to prison for 10 yrs on each of 4 counts. Judge will decide.

    Sheriff: we haven't uncovered any information that the father is involved. Haven't ruled it out, though.

    SHERIFF: thinks #EthanCouch "going away party" happened AFTER the beer pong video surfaced, right before he & mom went to Mexico

    SHERIFF: wasn't surprised Tonya Couch helped #EthanCouch, there's "no chance" she'll ever feel he needs to be punished

    If this is how the mom truly is, who is more responsible for this kid's behavior? Sounds like a kid that have no concept of accountability from his up-springing.
