It's just stupid when people inject race into sports conversations. You can always tell that you are dealing with the lowest form of sports fan when things like that are brought up. Race is, and has always been, entirely irrelevant to a players talent.

Very true. Sometimes people have nothing else to fall back on. Idiots.

There have been some black players who get this kind of irrational love. See Marcus Thornton.

But it often is white dudes off the bench.

Good thing we don't have Nik Stauskas or Jimmer Fredette on the team.

This would be best directed at those who turned a thread about Markieff throwing a towel into a discussion of black people as an inherently violent monolith. :)

I will refrain from further dragging that crap into this thread, however.

The backup QB syndrome is colorless - AB vs Lowry is a good recent example.

Skin color is a weak minded attempt at deflection - argue your point - about skill only, race is irrelevant - this is not Utah.

And devolving a discussion into that is weak sauce.

Well it IS directed at those people, they certainly qualify as those I was talking about. There's failed abortions that pull that nonsense both ways.

Dang, yall need to calm down. By the end of the season, the rockets will head into the playoffs w home court advantage. All you "fans" who are freaking out, and making rash decissions, like trading away DMO, and saying that rockets front-office and players don't care about championships... Yall need to quit expecting GREATNESS from the rockets, and be satisfied with who we are. In sickness, and in health, till death do us part. TRUE ROCKET FAN!

Ummmm.... think I'd rather build around Clint.... huge upside, still developing, head on straight...
    DMo is prob next....
Harden and Howard cannot co-exist on an ongoing basis... i wish it wasnt so, but it is what it is,,,

Uh, most people on this board are Rocket fans, I personally have followed them since the 1972 season. I doubt people would be here and discuss the team all that much if they did not care.

The problem is, that the direction we are headed is not one that I believe is the correct one...

    WOAH..totally forgot about him...great call.

    1. Harden
    2. Dmo
    3. Capella
    4. Howard

And I would trade Howard if we got Whiteside, or another great player....

Agreed. We've had plenty of those guys of all races. Even Asians and Hispanics!

Although the side jabs ("and1 mixtape") are a race thing and don't have a place here.

I always view those as a STYLE of play rather than a race thing, the Professor was a white dude that is on those tapes too.....JWill another white dude who played flashy ball.

I just assume it is style over substance - not a big fan of it myself, I want winning basketball - to me the best two teams to watch and it makes me sick are the Warriors and Spurs, they play WONDERFUL team oriented ball.....Heck Boston is getting there too.

The Rockets are not going to win anything EVER with Harden dominating the ball and not moving his body off of it, that is easy to shut down in the playoffs, with a double team.....

Regarding DMO - the reason I like him so much is that he plays the team oriented style of ball that I think wins championships.
