Seriously. Karl is trying to do some stupid fast paced offense nonsense with players that require an incredibly slow pace. Rondo, Gay and Cousins all work in slow offenses. They are terrible in this run and gun mess that they are currently running. Rondo can't shoot.

Malone at least ran the correct offense and defenses with an inferior team. Karl seriously looks like he is mailing it in and cashing in paychecks. What he's doing hardly qualifies as "coaching."

It's not like they were any good to begin with. The front office is inept.

Atleast they get to move into a shiny new arena next season.

What a dumpster fire of a francise. Atleast they are in the west. One less team to worry about.

Vivek obviously made a huge mistake in firing Mike Malone and you can argue in hiring Divak, though that hire could be defensible in terms of legacy, former high iq player etc...

The fact of the matter is, the Kings were terrible YEARS before Vivek and they are terrible now with Vivek. The current problems, including the hiring of Karl & the bad trades rests on Divak. You can argue, it was Vicek who hired Divac, but if he allowed his gm to do what he wanted, isnt that what a good owner does?

Lastly, Cousins should not be absolved of blame here. Dude is a malcontent and bad teammate. The fact that he was a problem to coach in college and under multiple coaches in the nba is not a coincidence.

I've always said it was a stupid firing of Malone. He had Cousins finally playing like a star. Alot of team running and bull****ting. The west is not tough like it use to be

What are the odds that Vivek throws $30 million at Kobe for a one year deal after firing Karl and hiring, say, Vinny Del Negro?

This owner is an idiot. Finally get a brown owner, and he's doing his best to run the organization to the ground. Thanks a lot Vivek. Way to ruin it for the rest of us. Now ill never own the Rockets.

Should we merge this with the Luke Walton thread?

You gotta clean house and start all over. Maybe I'm in the minority on this one but I would trade Cousins. He's a head case that holds the team hostage with his tantrums. Plus he's always injured. Better to trade him while his value is high.

    From dreamtofranchise's post;

"The day after the San Antonio loss, the players had a well-publicized players-only meeting. What hasn’t been reported is that after the players spoke, Sacramento general manager Vlade Divac and assistant GM Mike Bratz talked to the players and Divac asked the team, “We don’t know what to do with George [Karl], do you think we should fire him?”

The players, a person close to the situation said, were shocked and didn’t know how to respond. Stunned speechless and lacking a leader, the Kings then trotted out Omri Casspi and Caron Butler to meet the media. Casspi played for the team a few years ago, but was in Houston last season and just re-signed with Sacramento less than two months ago. Butler was signed in the offseason."

Incredible. Divac and Bratz are idiots, unless they were simply doing what Vivek told them to do, which is entirely possible, in my opinion.

They drafted Bismack? I thought it was Jimmer that they took or that was the trade they made with Charlotte... regardless Jimmer + Bismack = bust

To think they could have had Lillard and Cousins right now and most likely be in a much better place.

This franchise should have folded/moved a long time ago. I blame Kevin Johnson, the Mayor, for keeping them in Sacramento.

The funniest thing about the Kings offseason was them dumping salary to try to sign Wesley Matthews and then he signed with Dallas for less money.

They really should clean house starting with their roster. Deal Cousins away cuz its obvious they're NOT going anywhere with him. Then try to find takers for Gay and Rondo, get any kind of asset back if its just 2nd round picks.

Divac and Karl seem like immediate turnaround hires not rebuilding hires, but they're not gonna quick-patch this team. Karl has flaws and wears on his team, but its obvious that he is NOT THE central problem with the team. No matter what they put around Cousins, its the same results so why keep beating that dead horse. Roster rebuild first, then coach and front office rebuild after
