Mack had 5.5 sacks his Rookie season...Clowney has 4.5 sacks already while Clowney missed games this year with a few more games to go to surpass Mack's rookie sack total
awesome! that means he is not being iso'd by the staff or the players like locals want to believe. oooooo watt didn't answer the question, clowney is on watt's burn book.
Via PFF: PUT THESE MEN ON THE FIELD CRENNEL! (they don't always share the field together...) I'm sorry for all of y'all that are doubting Clowney. He is having a good year in general. Then consider it's his first year playing, and coming off microfracture, and on a snap limit? This is darn impressive, and he is looking better and better every game. All signs point to a stud on our hands.

Watt's Dec 18, 2015 Tania Ganguli ESPN Staff Writer HOUSTON -- As Texans coach Bill O'Brien watched film one day during training camp, he couldn't help but marvel at the talent at his disposal defensively. "Ninety and 99, you ain't f---ing blocking those guys," O'Brien said, shining a laser pointer where J.J. Watt lined up. "He's disrupting the s--- out of it here." Then he pointed to Jadeveon Clowney on the other side and said: "We can't touch this guy when he comes up and under. I mean this is like a snapshot of what you're hoping our defense can be." The scene shown on HBO's "Hard Knocks" demonstrated just how much the Texans hoped to get out of their two marquee pass-rushers. The Texans are starting to see those hopes realized. Clowney has three sacks in the past two games. He's starting to become very difficult for opponents to block, and he's doing it on a similar schedule to the one Watt followed his rookie year. In fact, Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts marks a sort of anniversary for Watt, who had a breakout game against the Colts his rookie year. In the playoffs of his rookie year he ignited the cult of J.J. Watt with a pick-six that many believe is the most memorable moment in franchise history. But signs that Watt was starting to figure things out appeared earlier. Against the Colts in that Week 16 matchup, Watt had three batted passes, a sack and five solo tackles. That season he had 5.5 sacks, four batted passes and 49 solo tackles. It took him some time to figure out how to transition to the NFL game. He's often talked about how he learned to play more freely and think less, which allowed him to be more productive. It's taken Clowney some time, too. His path was hindered by an injury-riddled rookie year. He played in only four games and played healthy for only one half before suffering a torn meniscus during the first half of the Texans' season opener. The Texans tried to bring him back before he was ready, but ultimately realized he needed microfracture surgery. A difficult rehab followed, but Clowney worked through it, pushed by the Texans' trainers. "I can't thank them enough for what they did," Clowney said. "It helped me get to this point. To get back. I'd been hearing about the injury, I didn't know where it would go. They told me to stay focused, stay positive and they helped me push through." Last weekend Clowney sacked Patriots quarterback Tom Brady twice. This week Colts coach Chuck Pagano called Clowney "unblockable." Clowney's own coaches offered more reserved compliments. "He is coming along," defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel said. "Beginning to make some plays, beginning to help us a little bit. I think he has been getting healthier as he has gone and is able to get on the field. He is still going through the learning process, but he is making progress and we still need him to make progress and help us out." Now mostly healthy for a season, Clowney's impact lately is helping the Texans' defense.
Seriously, I mean he still has that elbow brace on and it's been years, and he's got a club on his hand now. Clearly a bust.
