I could KISS you right now...that is 100% correct, Dwight is not EVER going to be the same - and he NEVER worked hard enough on his craft to be an all time great.

He is lacking skill.....and once athletic freaks lose that edge they are done really fast.

Agree that it is a player problem and Morey picked every single one of these players and paid most of them handsomely.

As long as we have Mchale's assistants there is no way of knowing how much of this is on the coaching staff. Remember these were the people helping Mchale.

My biggest issue with Dwight is he has never really learned how to pass from the post. He doesn't even try to read how teams are covering him before he goes into that same move to the middle and too many times he turns it over or gets hacked and can't make teams pay at the line. Passing, reading coverages, free throw shooting...these are all things that you should pick up in your second or third year, and if you haven't then you probably never will.

The thing is Morey and McHale are not that stupid that they did not realize this beforehand when they wooed him

Again Morey failed to do assemble a good team around Harden and he might have overvalued Harden's output vs his detrimental Defense.

And he might have think too highly of Dwight and that he still had Orlando Dwight in him.

Dwight worked hard, he just never had the ability to develop those skills, he tried, he put in plenty of time and effort.

Funny how the torches and pitchforks are out for Dwight and even James and yet the incompetent Bickerstaff is getting a pass by many, because you know c'mon guys, he's a rookie coach give him 1 or 5 years, he'll figure it out.

I haven't heard anyone use that excuse for Bickerstaff. Pretty much everyone agrees he's terrible.

No he did not - he never worked on developing skills he put in cursory work, but never enough to hone a skill.

He has always gotten by on his athleticism - and that is his own downfall - let another sucker pay him while he declines.

Giving him the entire season is a waste. Fans should be paid to see the Rockets play at this point.

I don't think anyone is giving JB a pass.

I think we pretty much all understand that JB is not performing his duties well. His rotations suck. His plays are mediocre at best. He doesn't know how to handle late game situations. The only thing I think he has actually done well is making defensive adjustments late in games. But it's not enough to overcome the bad right now.

Regardless, this team is full of idiots. That "chip on the shoulder" they had last year is gone now. They are in shambles. It's awful to watch.

This team is what it is, I'm not even mad about it any more. These occasional blips of greatness have never actually changed my opinion.

We basically let a scrub coach take the reigns because we knew how hopeless this year was.

You seem to believe that if you put in work, you can become good at something, that's not really true, you can be good enough in the regular world that seeks only mediocrity, but in a world where nothing short of excellence is useful, it doesn't work that way.

Dwight simply lacks the prerequisite ability to become a good post player, no amount of practice, and he put in plenty could fix that.

When it comes to the Rockets expect the expected. Zaza said it best:

I swear that should be the Rockets motto this season.

    Nothing easy. NOTHING EASY

I don't get why there is no news about a potential coaching candidate.

This is puzzling. The entire season long.

Because they gave JB the entire season. Its his team til the season is over. By then his contract expires I believe. I don't think they wanted to keep paying them and a new coach. So we're stuck with JB.

    Tell that to Karl Malone.

Howard has never put in the work.

D-Mo does play good positional defense. His problem is he's an equally bad positional rebounder. He fails to box out. I love D-Mo but we win when we out rebound our opponents. He needs to get better and/or we need a plus rebounding/ rim protecting 3rd center to backup Dwight and play with D-Mo. Capela needs to stay next to and compensate for regular season Dwight. If Dwight played like playoff Dwight D-Mo could start.

Waste of time. Typically efficient, Morey and Les.
