Why are we settling for a mediocre interim coach when our goal is to win a championship? I want him gone now!!!

 

ok so then you agree bickerstaff is not good.

why shouldn't this roster have a good coach? there's no salary cap restriction...

and people complaining about the coaching, they have been waiting years for a competent head coach. just give us one!

 

going in to the job, i don't think anyone would have thought he would keep it

The shot selection wasn't the problem. We have to solve the core of our issue. There's a reason why this team is so up and down. There's a reason why when things are good, it's really good and when things are bad bad, it's bad. To a man, starting with me, we have to solve the issue. Our issue is doing things right because it's the right thing to do. Not because it'll get me a bucket, not because it'll get me a shot or because I get the glory. That's not what this is about. That's our problem. We play SA last night. We play a beautiful game on both sides of the ball. Tonight, things aren't easy, things don't go our way, we turn into the ugly Rockets again. It's frustrating for me and for all of us I'm sure. It's not treating the game the right way. Over and over we've disrespected the game. Our priorities need to be clear. I need to do a better job of playing the people whose priorities are clear.

What are the priorities?

Winning is the only priority. Winning is the only priority. If they aren't playing with that priority in mind and they're doing other things, that's not important. Winning is the only priority that matters. That's the message that should be loud and clear. We haven't played to that level enough this year.

Trying to get a shot. They switched a lot of things. You need to screen your own man instead of the who the defender is guarding. We didn't execute the play or get the look we wanted.

Again, it's a core issue. We stop moving, we stop running. Our system is what our system is. Our system got us that lead. We weren't committed to the system down the stretch. Our core issues have to be resolved. We have to buy in to what we're doing. We've proven against the best teams we can do it and at a high level. It's the decision of whether we want to do it every night. We've chosen not to.

Ive said it over and over again. Most inconsistent team play good against elite teams terrible against weak teams

 

The experiment with Lawson is over! He should not be closing out games b/c he's not helping tbe team!

Thornton or Terry should have been playing instead b/c at least you know what you will get and that they will be aggressive unlike Lawson!

 

There's nothing wrong with having Howard on the floor for the last play. He can set a pick. He can roll to the basket for an alley-oop. It makes perfect sense to put him out there.

What doesn't make sense is to have him just standing there on the perimeter and then attempting a bounce pass to him with 1.7 seconds left. Only 1 of 3 things is going to happen. You turn the ball over since big men have trouble catching a bounce pass to their legs. Dwight is forced to attempt a 3-pointer which has a 99% of missing. Or Dwight kicks it back out to some 30 feet from the basket and they have to heave a prayer which almost certainly won't be answered.

It wound up being scenario #1 which is par for the course with this stupid team.

have patience, still 4 months to go until the Playoffs and who knows what the team will look like then.

 

Nice to see JB get mad at the players in the press conference. I like it. They deserve it.

Now it'd be nice to see JB get mad at himself for the atrocity of a 4th quarter he coached up as well.

 

Hard to aggressive when Harden is hogging the ball all the time

2 times in a row he failed to call t/o's. absolutely inexcusable. and this is besides his questionable rotations.

 

Morey has gotta go this is his system and his mess ! Need new coach and whole new system !!!! JB is an interim and only here for this year but after this season big changes have to happen

 

Again, no respectable veteran coach is gonna take over this team right now. They'll want a chance to have a training camp and know who will be on their roster. The trade deadline is less than 2 months away and this team could look very different by then. Hell, even Dwight might not be here. If you want someone of Thibs' caliber to coach here, it ain't gonna happen til next summer at the earliest.

 

Sounds like Harden is getting fewer minutes if he's serious about benching guys who don't move

i'm not saying he is bad or good, i'm not going to judge after just 1 month of basketball

people went nuts at Golden State for hiring Steve Kerr, well that worked well....

It would be nice to go 60-0 after getting a coach, but that just doesn't happen

Bickerstaff has never been in this position, he didn't ask to be either. So he has to learn as he goes and it takes longer than 1 month to get everything in a consistent groove
