Don't understand why he didn't put Capela on Vucevic. Did he not watch the preseason? Vucevic had a hard time scoring over Capela. Capela practically shut him down yet he hardly plays in the 2nd half.
While the positivity is commendable, the reality is this team needs a coach that can eek out better, more consistent effort from the players. Bickerstaff ain't that guy. They won't just "figure it out." He's not cut out to be a great coach (at least not right now). That's the reality. He's had long enough to at least show some sort of consistency, let alone improvement. I just don't see it. The plays they run on offense (when they do run plays) are middle school-level. The defense is AWFUL and has been AWFUL all year. The guys haven't been taught proper spacing and moving without the ball. It's glorified streetball. That's a big sign of bad coaching. The Warriors and Spurs are LIGHT YEARS ahead of Houston. That's the reality. Houston isn't beating those teams with a liability of a coaching staff. I'd rather them miss the playoffs than waltz into the playoffs with a ~.500 record and a guaranteed first round exit. Just end this misery already. Is it October 2016 yet?
McHale Jr. might be worse than his mentor! This clown is giving Thornton a DNP-CD in a game where the Spurs are clearly forcing Harden to pass it off. Meanwhile, all those minutes for Corey Brewer! WTF!!!!!!!!
He could of done a better job by calling timeouts around 2:00-2:30 when the Spurs was hacking Dwight.
The scary thing is the Rockets may have blown out the Spurs if we had a coach that used his personnel wisely
Are we just giving up hope that DMo will get back to last year? How will he at this point if he plays 5 min a game?
Actually it is. DMo is still getting back into form and his defense has really been bad while he's getting up to speed. The Rockets getting that win was more important than DMo rehabbing himself on the court. I love DMo and consider him one of only three untouchables FYI but he's obviously going to take time. The guy just had major back surgery so really we are lucky that he's even able to get on the court. And we need to be happy that Capela and Jones are playing well too. The Rockets have bigger goals. Let's stop with the favorites agendas.
For taking a hands-on approach in improving the chemistry between James and Dwight, J.B. should be commended. Everything rises and falls on those two. Harmony between those two leads to harmony in the whole team. I remember last year McHale sent Terry to speak to James and Dwight.
Only idiots are going to come here and complain. This man has never been a head coach, young and gifted basketball who was groomed from a child. You cant get thrown out of the pan and into the fire and become Larry Brown overnight. No matter how great the coach he isnt without his flaws. Only idiots are in this forum criticizimg him. He has gotten better over the little time and shock of being thrust into the forefront of a team that had championship aspirations, noone has ever had THAT kind of pressure immediately, idiots go away. Lock thread Clutch. We can assess JB a little bit better in the offseason, slow up infamous knee jerkers.
