I honestly don't know. I just noticed he was available and he's a pretty good rebounder and scorer. I would say Lawson but the Celtics don't need a pg, maybe a 3 team trade.
I'm normally against trading anyone unless they're knowingly on the block or they're not part of long term plans. With that... In: Ryan Anderson Jrue Holiday Out: T Jones Ty Lawson KJ (I like KJ and don't want to trade him, but we have little in the way of intriguing pieces that fit - salary wise). Dwight/Capela Dmo/Anderson Ariza/Brewer Harden/Thornton Beverley/Holiday Same style players rotating in and out should enhance chemistry and ensures consistency in rotations. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=h6ckk3n
That crack pipe trade idea wasn't too bad. It made me think of something similar. Jones and Brewer to Suns Jennings and Smith to Rockets Markieff to Pistons C.Jefferson to Clippers Then we can dump Lawson for space or an expiring. Beverley / Jennings Harden / Thornton / Terry Ariza / KJ Motie / Smith Howard / Capela Harrell in D-League, Dekker inactive.
To LAL: Corey Brewer and Marcus Thornton To PHI: Ty Lawson To PHX: Terrence Jones and Nick Stauskas To HOU: Nick Young, Lou Williams, and PJ Tucker Then lets hope the Clippers waive Josh Smith as they're rumored to. Let's say we bring him back. Beverley/Williams/Terry Harden/Young/KJ Ariza/Tucker/Dekker D-Mo/Smoove/Harrell Dwight/Capela/(open slot)
Delly, Bradley, Galloway, Hill and Holiday are all good 3 and D PG's that seem semi attainable. I also think Aminu would be a perfect fit as the backup SF/PF, he's a good defender, rebounder and now 3 point shooter. He's only 25 and is on good contract for 3 years.
Hill would be a Pat Bev plus, Aminu is a safe bet. Aminu might be more attainable than Hill, if Portland is willing to take Jones and a second rounder, IMO.
Rose has become a pretty terrible player, at this point players like Calderon, Jack, L.Williams are much better players. Rose is also on a 20m contract for this season and next which would kill our cap space. At this point if the Bulls could dump him I think they happily would. Any deal would probably involve them sending out assets and I feel like the Bulls would rather keep Rose then do that. The only realistic Rose trade I see is something like Joe Johnson and Jack for Rose and Gibson + a pick and or young player like McDermott or Portis. Rather use one of our rookies or maybe Jones/KJ or picks to dump Brewer and Lawson and get back a serviceable PG/PF.
Dmo, KJ, Dekker, Harrell + 1st to Suns for Knight, Morris, Jefferson(TPE) and Cotton(TPE) Lawson + 2nd to Blazers for Montero Knight / Beverley Harden / Thornton Ariza / Brewer Jones / Morris Howard / Capela Non rotation players - Terry, Jefferson, Cotton, Montero
NO. Jones has some value, Lawson has negative value, Brewer is neutral to negative. But Rose is playing almost as bad as Lawson right now, with another max year on the books, who struggles if he isn't dominating the ball, who might be the worst defensive big-minute PG in the league right now. AND he's almost certainly going to get injured. No Rose, please. He's a perfect Phoenix Sun reclamation project in 2017-8 as a backup PG.
Garpax leaked yesterday that "they are very happy with their roster and think it's championship caliber and it's likely they will make any change" They are the only team in the league that haven't done one single trade for over a year. If it's time to do one is now but apparently not, according to them everything is fine.
