why are so many of you assuming hoyer will play this week? did i miss something? how crazy/sad would it be if they are resting brandon weeden week 17 in advance of the playoffs? this is one whack franchise.
Loser mentality. You make a dumb thread way too early and you say I have a loser mentality. What's next start a thread asking if the Texans should start game-planning for the super bowl?
Oh you're one of those. The "I'll resort to name-calling when I don't have an intelligent response" type. Noted.
Just saying. That's like comparing 'what I'm planning on doing after graduating High School' a semester before graduation VS. 'what I'm planning on doing after graduating college w/ a engineering degree' before even entering college. Albeit, it's still the Texans, I don't see us losing to a Mariota-less Titans vying for the 1st pick(yea 2011 colts), when the playoffs is still on the line.
It's more like 'what dorm building should I choose at UT' before meeting the requirements or being accepted.
Tine to start this bad boy up again Along with 'who do you want to face in the wild-card round?' thread. My vote is for Denver Broncos, with KC winning their divison
Presuming Denver continues to struggle to end the season, I could actually see the Texans being a slight favorite that game. They'll be home dogs for sure against KC and Pitt. The Jets game would probably be a pick-em... but they'll be better prepared for the wild-cat if there's a next time.
At this point it's like 99% chance the Texans get in even if they lose and finish 8-8. I just hate 8-8 division winners so I hope the Texans finish 9-7. Not a great record but a legit winning record last least. I hope they don't rest anyone the whole game
KC is the hottest team in the AFC right now - don't really wanna see them until we have to. Jets just beat the Patriots. If they beat Buffalo next week, they'll be on an even more emotional high, as they'll have beaten Rex Ryan as well. Pretty hot team going into the playoffs as well. Denver's defense is still very strong, but they're the team I think we can win against, out of every candidate.
You wouldnt rest Watt or Clowney? Surely you jest. I would prolly rest them and some other guys on defense. Everyone else can play tho, esp Weeden who still need reps.
I think he's saying that, maybe the VIPs play for a series or so, and then yank them out. Last home game of the regular season; gives the non-playoff going people a final time to see VIPs play this year.
Right, that's fine. Jags have been terrible on the road. 1-15 in last 2 years if I heard correctly. Still have a strong chance of getting the 9th win, with our some back-ups on D and our current guys on offense that are healthy.
That seems like the best thing to do. Give the people who paid to go to the game a chance to see JJ and Nuke...but not for long. Treat it much like the 1st preseason game. Let the starters play a series or 2 and then take their helmets from them. Though, I would like a 9th win just so there's no whaaaaaambulances surrounding NRG about a team w/o a winning record in the playoffs.
well if hoyer is going to start, I'd want to see kansas city. Revenge is best served bald. chiefs destroying our playoff dreams in the 90s. All streaks have to come to an end. If hoyer isn't motivated to play the game of his life after that outing in week 1, I don't know what will.
I wanted the Colts to lose so JJ could heal up his hand some more but the next game is a MUST WIN Rocket River
