Jones played great last night. If he played like that more consistently, it would make the decision between him and D-Mo extremely difficult. His issue has always been consistency. There are games where he just completely disappears in every facet of the game. I love him in the bench role he is at right now though.
After the block, he stayed out of bounds and started peacocking in front of the Rockets' bench while the ball was still live. You think that's acceptable?
I find many things "unacceptable" and a LOT are about our two main stars. So what's your point? Trade everyone until we have perfect people who only do "acceptable" things? Good luck.
did you not watch the entire play. Unless you don't have a clue what you're watching. the ball is clearly going in the opposite direction of jones after he blocked it. he sees it going towards beverly, which it does and he gets the reb. stop finding stuff to criticize when theres CLEARLY nothing there. So in this case, its completely acceptable.
what's even better here is the play started with walker w/ jones guarding him and he finished the play blocking someone else. but according to you that's unacceptable right the criticism around here is such a joke especially when it comes to TJ/Dmo.
Yes.... if its 2012 and Morey is still trying to build a roster. As of right now the focus is on winning now. Obviously we've hit a bump in the road that could detour the direction later on, but for all intense purposes asset collection is not objective. Morey let FOUR picks go last year for rentals. Jones and D-Mo right now have value as rentals vs. what they would coupe back in trades. Not sure why this is so difficult to understand. People are just too stuck back in 2012 Moreymode. Morey clearly showed last year that now he values REAL TIME ON COURT players over draft assets in some cases. He clearly valued Brewer and Prigioni over FOUR draft picks. If that's the case what does he value Jones & D-Mo in terms of what he's willing to give up in draft assets to get that production in a "all-in" year? Obviously there is some limit to that and Morey would probably take a step back in REAL TIME ON COURT players to get really really good assets that help in the long run, but let's be honest about Jones & D-Mo's trade value and think about that. He's not getting a Lowry-type-pick for either of those guys that will make a dent in a franchise altering deal. I definintely think its a real option for Morey to use BOTH of these guys this year and live with one of them walking this Summer just because he values their REAL TIME ON COURT production over what he's getting offer back in trades right now.
The way Jones' fans go totally nuts every time he has a good game....no matter how long it's been since the last good game, reminds me of someone who used to be on the Rockets. Next year can't come soon enough.
Here's a screenshot right after the block. At this point, Beverley has just secured the rebound, and Kemba Walker has converged on him to try to steal the ball. Meanwhile, Jones is strutting around out of bounds, facing the Rockets' bench, and flexing. He's peacocking during a live ball. Totally unacceptable.
That's not how it works LOL, both Howard and Capela still would've been in foul trouble anyways by your definition of the reason why Jones got playing time. And when did his time get reduced anyways. Let's not act like we know JBB rotation and the way he levee outs minutes please. And I disagree, Jefferson being out wasn't the reason why we won this game. We've beaten Jefferson and the Hornets in the past several times.
I get what you are saying, but I think he will make that move, to both: A. Get some value for him now B. That player he gets in return he thinks can help more than Jones, Now. DD
I think it's pretty safe to assume that JBB doesn't want Jones guarding Zeller (a 7 footer) or Al Jefferson. There's a reason he was primarily guarding Kaminsky. They aren't the same Hornets team. In the offseason, they added Batum, Lin, and Hawes. Batum and Lin average the 2nd and 5th most mpg on that team.
This post proves absolutely nothing. Your attempt to break down what actually happened clearly illustrates your lack of understanding of what transpired during that possession. Great play by TJ period. Moving along.
the Jones cycle's always like this...awesome game-crap game-nice game-morey had a deal in place-gets injured-recover-plays crap again....Repeat!
LOL. "Jones fans".... aka the people that don't think TJones is as useful as bag of potatoes on the basketball court.... Have you noticed that on every fan site you post on.... There are "Jones' fans"..... Have you ever considered the issue is with you?
.... I mean do you even look at his averages. For all the praise DMo was getting last season... people forget how similar TJones and DMo statistically. Let's be honest, TJones's game isn't pretty like DMo so he's disparaged for that.
