Theirs a huge gap between Harden and the rest of the SG and it's not close. He's had a down year and it's still better than anything klay or jimmy will ever produce. Guaranteed.

Harden leads and entire offense comparing him to klay is disrespectful. If you want to say James for franchise players is behind lebron curry KD this year? Sure I agree but not klay freaking thompson.

We will see who gets 1st team all NBA this year? Bet it won't be thompson.

JH has been top 5 in win shares and over 60% ts the past 3 years.

You guys know who's the only other player to do that? Lebron and that's it.

Klay couldn't handle JH usage or running an offensive because he has not go to moves and can't create is worse rebounder pretty much not better at anything other than shooting.

Yes his defense is better but he's also not an elite defender like some say he's actually quite overrated.

I can't believe some of you guys think JH is not that good. Have not been watching the same guy the past 3 seasons? He was great last year like top 25 individual season of all
Time. Also led houston to our 2nd most wins altime and a west conference finals birth.

He only had a couple of good games but the rest is mediocre

 

I usually don't care for Pelton's opinions but when it has to do with strict simply math that doesn't require proper analysis he does some good work.

I have to admit I'm surprised by these numbers. Not saying they aren't valid, I just don't watch enough Warriors games to understand why the numbers are saying what they are saying.

For instance, I've always understood Thompson to be a good defender, and my eyes told me he was a pretty good defender when I watch him during the Rockets season last series. Can someone explain to me some tangible reasons his defensive rating is so low?

And same question for his low offensive rating? Anyone have any theories on why he's rated so low?

Could some of it be attributed to the fact that they just have an all-around very good and deep team

 

It is a great team with a great system. And some guys play less minutes very efficiently.

Also Harden has a lower ORtg and DRtg than Klay this year, so...that means what?

Defensive stats are more useful for measuring team rather than individual performance.

 

That's a great post on how stats can be misused in the hands of an arrogant idiot.

Have you ever seen how basketball is played? It's not just dots moving around doing what their stats program them to do like some sort of soccer manager game.

 

The offense is designed to suit Harden. It doesn't suit any other player whatsoever. No other team in the league has an offense that is so blatantly centered around one particular player. Harden does what he does and the other guys have to go against their natural roles to adapt.

The way you use stats is even more subjective.

The same goes for you d******d, completely blinded by some random stats

He's the 3rd or 4th best player on one of the greatest teams of all time. What a loser.

 

For the record, I don't think Klay Thompson is the best shooting guard in the NBA, I just think there's nothing wrong with him believing it.

 

Klay is the third best player on the warriors IMO.

A guy who is an elite shooter who makes an impact off the ball while playing good defense at the 2 is very valuable.

Ariza is somewhat like that I guess. Maybe a better defender but a much worse shooter

 

Where does the idea that Klay is such a good defender come from? It's like Parsons - solid as a rookie so he gets the rep even though he's horrific every year since (on d)

 

What makes you say he's a horrific defender?

 

From his perfomance. Denying the ball on screens, switching and communicating in defence, great (elite some times) iso defence and pnr defence. What more you want?

Butler is better defender, and Kawhi is better than Butler when it comes to wing defence. Allen is also better than Klay (at least last year).

 

Thompson is not horrific on defense. He's not elite like his reputation suggests, but so very far from horrific.

 

He's certainly not horrific but he seems to get abused when he tries to guard Harden. So if that's the only time someone saw the Warriors play, I could see how they would think that.

 

How does prove Klay is a horrible defender? It's like saying Harden is a horrible offensive player because Curry is better.
