Probably been asked already - If the Texans clinch next week, would it be the first time all 3 sports teams clinched a playoff berth in the same calender year?
Good question. It definitely hasn't been done in this era of Texans / Astros / Rockets I had to check & last time was 1980. Astros -- http://www.baseball-reference.com/postseason/1980_NLCS.shtml Rockets - http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/teams/Houston-Rockets/10/Playoff-History OILERS - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Houston_Oilers_season
According to the Playoff predictor, the key to everything for the Colts are the Falcons. The Falcons HAVE to finish 9-7 for the season (the play vs. Carolina, then vs. NO to finish the season). No matter WHAT happens, playing around with the Playoff scenarios, if the Falcons don't finish with 9 wins, the Colts can't win the division provided we are both 8-8. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=custom&14=54054414&15=00514004&16=40140544 Play around with it yourself, the Falcons games hold the key to everything.
Okay so there's another way that the Colts can make it even if the Falcons finish with 8 wins. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=custom&14=54054414&15=00514014&16=40100544 A lot has to happen, and there has to be upsets.
Kevin Johnson is playing decent but boy it would have been nice to have Marcus Peters in this secondary. Dude is a playmaker.
It goes without saying. Weeden is a QB that has been on an NFL roster in the past 2 years....pretty much means he's better than Hoyer with very few exceptions.
Well you thought Mallet was better than Bortles and Mariota. So it's obvious what your opinion is worth

I would really like for Jaelen Strong to get more and more playing time, another weapon would be nice. Mercilus' spin move is getting deadly, looks beautiful. Hope they win the next 2 and go into the playoffs with some momentum. On the flip-side, I feel kind of bad that I felt a bit of joy seeing Andre losing to the Texans in Indy, and maybe not even making the playoffs.
What's weird about Merc is how little respect he's getting. He's got almost 10 sacks on the year yet he's almost never double teamed. Teams are getting to where they are sending 2 and sometimes 3 guys at Watt and even Clowney but you still see them trying to block Merc with one.
I thought it was really odd how Yates apparently doesn't know how to slide and our special teams fair catches balls inside the 10 yard line. Coaching fail.
There aren't enough guys to double team all three of them. You have to pick your battles, and I'd pick Mercilus every time. He's benefitting, as he should.
Well yeah but wasn't Clowney on the sidelines for the play where Merc did the awesome spin move to beat his single blocker and crush Hasselbeck? They should have had an extra blocker to throw at him or at least someone to chip him since they so often do that with both Watt and Clowney on plays.
