I jumped off the Cook bandwagon after the Big Ten championship game. Not sure which of the QBs I really like anymore. Goff and Lynch will probably be gone by the time the Texans pick anyway. Hopefully Elliot or Henry is available.

Not a bad idea except Brees will have a 30M cap hit next year. Steep price for a potential 1 year rental.

It's interesting. They probably need to cut him because until they do, they don't have too many other options to cut salary from to improve. At the same time, once you cut Brees, you're pretty much opening the gates to the Saints days before 2006 where there were a ton of empty seats in the Superdome and people with bags over their heads.

I think there might be one potential suitor out there who may trade for Brees. That's Denver. Of course with Elway already having recruited Peyton through FA, I think they'd be fine letting him be waived and then pursuing him.

Brees' dead cap is going to be $10 million either way if you trade him or waive him, so I think the advantage is all for the teams after him assuming the Saints actually do decide to go in that direction. The Texans should obviously try, I'm not sure what kind of chances I'd give the Texans in landing him though. He is from Austin which may help our case a little.

The Elway model involved Manning having a serious neck injury and the future of his career being in question. It's not going to be as easy to get Brees.

All of these QB's have issues except for one. Mine. Cardale just wins games. Plain and simple.

Which one would you draft Elliott or Henry?

So all of the QB's have issues except for the one that isn't an NFL QB prospect. Yup, that sounds about like the QB class this year.

    Elliott.

Henry has too many miles on him, and carries the Alabama running back bug.

This Texans team really needs a QB in the worst way. If you think Goff or Lynch are worth keys to the franchise this year...you make the trade that Redskins made. It was a huge gamble for the Redskins to go after the consensus 2nd best QB in the draft - but after a fantastic rookie campaign...NO one thought it was a bad decision. As RG3 decided to NOT improve as a QB, the gamble the Redskins took started looking bad. You have to ask yourself...If RG3 didnt regress...and stayed the same (ala. Luck lite) was it really a bad decision for Washington?

The Texans are most likely going to pick somewhere btwn 17-23...I would try my luck with the Chargers or Ravens in attaining a top 5 draft pick, by willing to part with at least 3 1st rounders including this year(max)/

That's crack. No team is ever going to offer that much again or need to.

Lynch and Goff might be the best QBs in this draft, but they're not the same caliber of prospect RGIII was when he was coming out. Neither are worth 3 first rounders. If there were somebody like Luck or Winston or Mariota then yeah, maybe. But for Lynch or Goff? No way.

No QB in this class is worth trading up for.

Personally, I love the idea of signing Brees if we can or maybe even Stafford from Detroit. The kicker is that it will leave a gaping whole at QB in which NO or Detroit will need to fill. As it stands now, they pick ahead of the Texans. That adds another team looking for a QB that happens to pick in front of us besides a whole slew of other unexpected teams that might draft a QB high. Right now we already have Cleveland, SF, STL, looking for QBS. Throw in Dallas possibly trying to find their next QB after Romo, Philly cuz Bradford has glass knees, NYJ because Fitzy is never the long term answer, and all of a sudden the Texans may have to trade up and reach for a QB.

If you had to...would you rather trade up for Goff/Lynch or trade for RG3/Kaepernick.

If you think about it, his miles are only from one year. He was splitting carries with Yeldon last year so he has only one one year of a heavy workload. I like last year's version of Elliot better than this year. Maybe it was the play-calling like he's said but he just wasn't as dominant. And Elliot's legs look so small which probably makes him quicker but I'll also be worried about injuries (i know that sounds dumb). Henry has reminded some of Lendale White. I think he is better off paired with a change of pace back in the pros. He is definitely a home-run threat. Elliot is more of a complete RB IMO and most people have him off the board before Henry.

You think RG3 or Kaep can be changed in this offense? I feel one of them could easily be an Eagle this upcoming offseason. Makes too much sense
