Saw the movie with the wife at 8:00 showing. I really enjoyed it and was hoping for a little more at the end. I'm looking forward to see in what direction the story will go next. 9/10
Thought it was great although one thing bothered me... Spoiler no ****ing way they are challenging him with a light saber Anyways. 9/10, and I expect great things from Disney with the future movies. Did not disappoint. The movie was gorgeous. Anyways. I ****ing called something earlier in the thread.
Very true but.... Spoiler Luke would have gotten his ass handed to him by Vader too so the series has a history of doing things like that. They could probably write it off saying something stupid like they got help from the force or whatever.
8.5/10 Visuals were amazing, perfect infusion of old school/new school. Loved the humor too + many other things. Spoiler A few notes: If Kylo is Jacen Solo, I am disappoint. He needs to get muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh more powerful to fill those shoes. (Are they following the expanded universe or no?) Supreme leader Snoke looks like Darth Plageuis but I doubt they go that direction, still hoping they do. EDIT: Crazy new hints that make a lot of sense for Snoke being Plageuis https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/3xben4/theory_about_supreme_leader_snoke/ When's the next movie? Mark Hamill isn't getting any younger & Luke Skywalker got about 4 seconds of screen time. Little worried there.
Spoiler but Luke at least had some training. A freaking storm trooper got some licks in. I know he was hurt... But still.
Spoiler They said that the EU was no longer canon but they also clarified that statement by saying they wouldn't be opposed to using/adapting aspects and storylines from it. From watching the movie tonight you can tell they have most definitively done that. As for Snoke I to think he will turn out to be either Darth Plagueis or The Sith Emperor Valkorion/Vitiate As for episode viii they started filming this past September and it is scheduled to be released May 26, 2017

I got dragged into seeing it tonight. I'll consider myself a casual fan as in I've seen all of the movies and know the main characters but that's about it. I really enjoyed this one. They did a nice job of mixing old characters with the new ones and I laughed a lot during it.
I'm gonna end up falling madly obsessively in love with Daisy Ridley by the end of this trilogy. I wonder if this is what people thought in '77 about Leia.
Man it was hard to keep out of this thread and the other for so long to avoid potential spoilers. A good amount of laughs but lol'd at this in particular Spoiler "We've lost 2 x-wings already! That's half our fleet!" I was thinking that in the 30 years since ROTJ the new empire's built a planet sized death star. The republic's built like 10 x-wings and transport ships/freighters that look like bricks. Spoiler It doesn't really explain how Finn got a few licks in, but I'm theorizing that Rey's received some Jedi training. If I were to try and explain Finn landing hits on Ren, I'd say that Finn's motivation to win and protect Rey were pure, while Ren can't channel the dark sided as strongly (at times) since his emotions are always so back and forth.
This was amazing. Simply breathtaking visuals and acting was top notch. Daisy Ridley is the next big thing, and Adam Driver was AWESOME! Oscar Isaac was such a badass in the role, and BB-8 was refreshing! I have completely forgotten the prequels. This redeemed the last 16 years. 10/10
It seems like TFA did as well. Glad no mentioning of the prequels. May 2017 is sooo far away! Rogue One dosen't look that enticing to me next year.
