Last year at the trade deadline I said we were trying to move Terrence. We were trying to trade him. But we couldn't get value for him. The year before last in 2013-14, I suggested we should move Terrence while his value was optimal. And we should have. Hope that clears it up for you.
I'm not sure why posters continue to give this bloke a hard time? He was bang on the money about the Lawson trade, and you all want to act like he knows nothing and posts pure speculation. Kind of sad.
Ok, first time posting here but a longtime reader. I guess it's been so frustrating and disappointing to watch the Rockets slide that I was motivated to post something. Atlanta has had a somewhat disappointing start as well. What would it take to get Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver, and Thabo Sefolosha? Would T. Jones, Ty, Mcdaniels, Dekker and a first round pick get it done or do we need to include Dwight? It solves Houstons shooting and defensive problems and it allows Shroeder to take over the point in Atlanta while freeing up cap space this summer.
Thornton who, for reasons unknown, was held out of the first half two games ago, and last night was a DNP. Gonna be part of a trade? Said something about Morey's mama?
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p3dxq6s Houston: In: Vince Carter/Josh Smith/Lance Stephenson Out: Ty Lawson/TJones Grizzlies: In: TY Lawson Out: Carter/R.Smith/J. Adams/Matt Barnes Atlanta In: Tjones/J.Adams/R. Smith Out. Mike Scott Clippers: In; Mat Barnes; Mike Scott Out: L. Stephenson, J.Smith Houston; Gets players that actually play D - Smith comes back and helps unlock Brewer - We need a crazy guy like Stephenson to play the vernon Maxwell crazy, and carter is a scorer of the bench. Memphis - needs a little bit of a shake up and Ty will be able to play with the ball in his hand in the second unit. Can pass to Gasol and Randolph. ATlanta - has Cap space - is rewarded with Tjones and 2014 players to facilate this trade. Clippers - they want to dump Smith who I think we should get back.
Clippers just traded away Barnes they will not trade to get him back, esp with the sour feelings in the end. Also they are happy with Stephenson and Smith now that they are winning again.
Cyberx reports what he hears and he's been money pretty often - but what he hears is not necessarily what goes down as things change. bballholic definitely has some insight here or there but if he's an insider, he gets some horrible inside information and has no filter. But you're welcome to believe what you will.
Finsraider posted this in another thread and I find it an awesome trade. What you think? Detroit: Lawson and TJones for Ilyasova and Steve Blake Why i think it's realistic : Jennings may not look well coming of his achilles and Detroit desperately need something from the bench. They also will have a lot of money to pay Jones next year. SVG is a good coach and can utilise Lawson and can also keep him in check and away from the young kids if needed.
TJones for Marcelo Huertas, Tarik Black, and Sacre. Simple and it plugs holes. I like Marcelo in the Pablo role from last year, and hated when we cut Black. Sacre is just to make the trade work....I'd cut him immediately. Beverley / Huertas Harden / Thornton Ariza Capela / DMo Dwight / Black
We're showcasing our scrubs so we can trade them. Thornton is staying. If we wanted to trade him we'd start him
It would be wise to consider possible Thornton trades at this point. Thornton is a player that a team trying to make the playoffs would consider valuable to their rotation. Possible Thornton destinations: Brooklyn - he's played there before. They're trying desperately to make the playoffs. Lost their starting SF. Joe Johnson has moved to 3 and they're plugging different players at SG (Ellington, Bogdanovic, Markel Brown). They've already discussed Lawson with us, which would require them to patch together 3 players. So we'd have to send them another player back. Nets are playing Indy in about an hour. I'll be watching this game for strange things in their rotation. They should be finished in plenty of time to announce a trade after the game before 11 pm Central, which would make the incoming players trade eligible in combination at the deadline. Clippers - they're wanting a better shooting option than Jamal Crawford. Wizards - lost Bradley Beal for a couple weeks. Could use Thornton's instant offense and may be willing to give up a piece to get Thornton along with another contract. Beal may also be on the trade block himself. The coach has some issues with him and his inconsistent play. Pels - Thornton is from there and there could be a bigger deal in the works with New Orleans with Thornton as one of the minor pieces out. Unfiltered of course.
Beal is on the trading block because the coach has issues with him? The coach is with one foot out of the door anyway, if he has issues with their franchice player he will get fired in one sec before even start talking Beal trades.
What's funny is a Thornton for JSmoove swap could make sense for both teams. Then you work TJones into another deal to bring back Kevin Martin, say for TJones and Brewer. Still need a PG. Marcelo Huertas for 2016 NYK 2nd? Beverley / Huertas / Terry Harden / Martin Ariza / McDaniels / Dekker JSmoove / DMo / Harrell Howard / Capela
