Pharma exec Martin Shkreli pays $2 million for Wu-Tang Clan album http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/martin-shkreli-wu-tang-clan-album_5668ba2be4b0f290e521f44a
for those of you scoring this at home, he reversed his pledge to drop the price except to hospitals: http://news.yahoo.com/turing-reneges-drug-price-cut-194524306.html Another company can sell at $0.99 a pill, but only on a special order/compound basis. There are huge regulatory barriers, even on out of patent drugs.
We should allow some giant company to buy up all the major drug companies and then charge the max you are willing to pay for each pill. We do not need regulations at all, big government is bad.
Hopefully he will do some time and gain a deeper understanding/appreciation for the Clan and the stories they tell.
If you're going to gleefully attract that much negative press, you'd better be certain that everything you do is legally above board. He apparently didn't think that being a pompous douche would make investigators go over his life with a fine-toothed comb.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Probably because nice guys don't commit securities fraud. I won't rejoice too much. It seems to me like he must have some sort of disorder. Sociopathy or affluenza or something.
FBI tweeted this; we are living in incredibly stupid times. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Breaking?src=hash">#Breaking</a> no seizure warrant at the arrest of Martin Shkreli today, which means we didn't seize the Wu-Tang Clan album.</p>— FBI New York (@NewYorkFBI) <a href="https://twitter.com/NewYorkFBI/status/677597263540191232">December 17, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

OMG that's not cool. Don't u mean prison-grade HIV meds? He better shove some $750 pills up his ass. More bad news: his parents are Mexican rapists. Just remember: if ur a Mexican or Negro or whatever, u can climb to the top of the Ponzi scheme by hard work, losers!
Not sure what's stupid about that. He hasn't been convicted of anything, so it'd be a little inappropriate for the feds to go around seizing his stuff just because. If it was evidence for a trial, like a computer with records of his malfeasance, that'd make sense to seize at this point. Later, when he's convicted, the court can force him to liquidate his assets to pay restitution.
