If Utah wanted Lawson they could have traded for him by giving up one of their first rounders (not their own) and perhaps a small prospect like Burke. They didn't. Denver had contacted Utah several times for a Lawson trade, nope, no interest.
Now you are asking them to get Lawson who has LESS value than this summer for Hood who has more value than one of their late firsts had.

"Harden should play off the ball and pass more".

    15/16 Rockets are:

1-9 when he attempts less than 20 FGA

11-5 when he attempts 20 FGA or more

Something ain't adding up. Aggressive Harden leads to more wins. We get blown out when he plays passive and lets Lawson & co do their thing.

Moving a 26 yr old runner up for Mvp would be stupid and not for just money reasons.

I just cannot think anyone would take Brewer or Lawson (damn big disappointment to me) With out us paying to much to get rid of them!

How do you tell his ego that most superstars are ballhogs.... the best ones are those that understand how not to turn the ball over.

Good luck with that. If Harden accepts he is just not that great at basketball than most of his fans think.

He is close to greatness but not there yet.

Playing off the ball and putting up many FGA are not mutually exclusive you know?

He could spot up more, he could cut more, he could come off screens for the open jumper etc etc.

he doesn't have to dribble the air out the ball for 20 seconds and then shoot. That's not the only way to get 20 FGA

Harden and all superstars who handle the ball have a high turnovers rate I think that has been stated numerous times on this board.

If we get Lou or Young for Brewer it will be a BIG win for Morrey. Amazing job.
That's why I'm very happy for this news if it comes through and don't get why everyone else is so angry. Everyone should be celebrating if this happens.

A scorer off the bench? That's like putting a tiny little band-aid on a huge gaping wound.

And, a scorer off the bench doesn't do anything for the huge problem that is the starting five.

The Rockets need to get serious and make some REAL changes.

What is their assist to turnover ratio compared to Harden?

I can assure you even without looking at the stats that Harden is amongst the worst if not at the very bottom for all superstars with high usage and who handle the ball.

do you think this year Harden is performing to the level of a runner up MVP?
Do you think this year Harden is performing to the level of a superstar?
Do you think this year Harden is performing to the level of a top 5 player?
Do you think this year Harden is performing to the level of a top 10 player?

It's only up to Les to decide becaue Harden is in contract for two more years after this one and right now has absolutely NO leverage to ask for a trade. (Same with all the other wild theories about Cousins or Paul George).
Only expiring franchise players have leverage to ask for trades.

Obviously. He plays no D and hogs it up on offense.

All I'm saying is that over this season and last there are 104(81 last year plus the last 23 this year) games where he has played at an MVP level player. There were 3 to start the season where he played LVP level player.

Other than those 3 games not much at all has changed with Harden. Usage, production across the board, shooting percentages and defense. It's all nearly identical. So if everything he is doing for 104 out of 107 games is at that consistent MVP level how is this mostly his fault?

Everyone killing him defensively this year is giving him wayyyyyyyy too much credit for his defense last year. Not much has changed with him.

The team defense has gone to **** and somehow it all falls on the shoulders of our worst defender if he's giving effort or not. It's a joke. He's a bad defender even when he tries and he's trying at just about the same level as last year. And no, that wasn't me saying I don't expect effort from him. That's me saying his effort hasn't changed a whole hell of a lot since last year.

Last year we did a lot of winning with Harden doing the same **** he's doing this year. Looked like everyone was trying just fine last year.

I'm not coddling anyone. I'm trying to open up people's eyes to the reality that the first 3 games of this season has severely clouded people's judgement on how Harden is playing offensively and defensively this season. I post the proof in the numbers over and over, but people don't want to see it. We're losing and they are mad so they gotta yell at someone.

Harden's the same guy he was last year. The team has changed and I don't see how it's all/mostly his fault.

I think we need another big man. Someone that can either shoot the three or rebound very well.

Ryan Anderson would be a godsend. Send them Brewer, Jones and a DEN's 2nd round pick.

    I would really like L.Williams

He was just a 15 ppg 6th man on a winning Raptors team. He's on a good 7 mill per deal for 3 years and the Lakers have no use for him. Good buy low scenario. Still see no way we unload Brewer for someone who has positive value without adding in sweetners.

Also as others have mentioned, there's more important places to focus on fixing like defense, rebounding and Thornton has been perfect as our off the bench spark plug, the guy who wasn't played until the end of the 3rd quarter last game. I swear I'm so frustrated with JB not giving Thornton consistent minutes he has been undoubtedly the best player off the bench this season. 13 points against the Nuggets 4/8 shooting, 3/4 from 3. 18 points against the Lakers, 7/13 shooting, 4/8 from 3. And only one turnover total for both games.

How does he get rewarded for playing very well? Being benched.

This just sort of tells me that there is a good possibility that someone is getting moved, or they are trying to move someone that was supposed to be that guy.

My guess is that is Ty Lawson. I'd be shocked if he's still on the roster by the trade deadline. The Rockets wont be able to recoup the 1st rounder they gave up for him, but they can at least try to get someone that was supposed to do what he was brought in to do at a lower cost level.

Lou Williams makes some sense. Nick Young.... ugh... Really... we need more personality? I think we need a little less personality.

Nick Young public persona =/= not his real personality.
Everyone aroudn the league says he's a great teammate and a very smart guy.

BTW why I want Young more than Lou?
Simple. Lou poisoned the lockeroom of the Raptors and it was him and his influence who caused them to go away from their beautiful team ball they wre playing the first half of the season to all iso chuck ball no defence they played the second half.
