There is no official "cartel" that hates the American people but there certainly are a network of donors, lobbyist and their bought representatives that direct what legislation passes. I think their focus is more on banking and corporate regulation and taxation (dodging and preventing it) than something about hating people, unless you mean subsidizing losses and polluting; laying burdens on the people for excessive profits is sort of a benign hate,
Most likely true. Also exactly what Dems think of 20 years of investigating the Clintons and repeatedly coming up empty. Depends. I assume voters would like a Senator that is effective. Governing is about building relationships and making compromises. Cruz gets nothing accomplished because he's unable to do either. What kind of leader are you when you can't function as part of a team or get anyone to do what you want? Translating this to the Presidency, if Cruz can't work with his Senate "allies", what makes us think he can work with foreign leaders?
So, according to you, what we need is someone who will continue to enable and perpetuate the corrupt status quo, business as usual approach that positively infests Washington and Congress. I would suggest that we need a president that want to lead some serious change of these practices. But of course your two primary dynasty/establishment favorites, Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush will do nothing of the kind. Voting for Hillary is endorsing more of this sort of corruption and political game playing that has plagued our federal government for far too long. Maybe you like that. If you do, vote for Hillary Clinton. You will get your wish.
Yeah, versus nutjobs that want to take us back to discrimination and robber baron economics, the status quo is just fine compared to that. Look around, it's not so bad here; could be better, but we are making progress. I don't want to go backward to a fantasy that never existed.
The problem is that Cruz has shown no ability to do that because he has no support from any of the people needed to enact change. Screaming about demanding change is worthless if you have no ability or strategy to actually accomplish anything.
Not in his current position, he doesn't. But as President, he would. Once again, you appear to be openly insisting that the corrupt business as usual approach is inevitable, so in the words of Clayton Williams, you might as well lie back and enjoy it. What a bunch of bull****. If that is what you people support these days, then you should be ashamed of yourselves. Well, vote for Hillary Clinton and you will surely enjoy all of the corruption that we have now, and much, much more.
Did you not see what happened to Obama when Congress refused to work with him? Cruz is just using right wing populism to his advantage much like Obama used left wing populism
I saw Ted Cruz make moves back in the day, his game has not improved. At least this time he came home sober and without an eyebrow shaven off.
So he's running on a "Vote for me, I will govern as President completely different than everything you know about me!" platform? Are you suggesting he will just magically change the way Washington operates when elected President? He tried that in the Senate and hasn't changed a thng. Obama ran on the same idea - just saying you will do it is different from having a plan to make it happen.
Senate Intelligence not investigating Cruz 'The leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee said Wednesday that they are not investigating whether Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) discussed classified information during Tuesday's presidential debate. "The Committee is not investigating anything said during last night’s Republican Presidential debate," Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the top two members of the panel, said in a statement. They issued the statement after Burr told reporters on Wednesday morning that he had asked his staff to review the debate transcript for references Cruz made to a National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance program during a back-and-forth with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).'
The main cause of political corruption is campaign finance and Ted Cruz supports unlimited donations from billionaires. You're dreaming if you think Ted Cruz is interested in curbing political corruption. What Cruz will do is dazzle you with empty debate tactics and conservative lollipops until you're ready to move on to your next political crush.
Something really nasty and sordid about Theodore Cruz is going to come out. He has burned too many bridges with too many powerful people.... the baggage is enormous and that doesn't necessarily mean his sexual proclivities.
To his credit, he does seem to have struck a bizarre alliance with Donald Trump. Maybe we'll see Trump get the VP nod once Cruz is nominated. But anyway, doing backroom deals with industrial magnates and foreign dictators is probably more akin to doing deals with vying presidential candidates than it is like building a consensus in Congress. I get a Joseph Stalin vibe from Ted Cruz -- nobody liking him, no one thinking he'd have the support to take power, and yet naturally shrewd about how to navigate the politics to put himself on top.
