Man shuts down I-45 so that he can propose to his girlfriend

But what if the best view of the skyline is next to the trash dumpster inside of a sewage plant?

Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that it's one of the busiest freeways in the entire country?

If he wanted a nice view of the skyline, he could have taken her to Buffalo Bayou Park along Allen Parkway. He could have even safely parked his car and done what he needed to do without pissed off drivers honking at him, cursing at him, flipping him off or the fear of getting arrested or killed....all of which tend to diminish from the overall bliss and elation of such an important life event.

 

Very stupid move but unless something was actually caused other than an inconvenience to a bunch of drivers just give them a fine and let them be lucky they didn't cause harm to anyone else and move on.

 

I almost posted a pic of the park at night, all lit up with the new lights along Allen Parkway and downtown as the backdrop, but I simply didn't give enough ****s to continue to "argue" with the clueless.

The Reddit thread that had this story stated that there was a woman in labor that was stuck in the traffic they created.

 

I don't know who is more dumb. This entitled fool who pulled this stunt or the girl who was happy to say yes to this recently divorced entitled fool.

 

Honestly I wish all of his friends who helped him pull off this stunt by driving their cars and stopping traffic with/for him would get charged as well. ****ing idiots.

 

I just can't believe that, out of that many people, none of them thought it was a bad idea.


Could you imagine if there was an ambulance, with someone dying in the back of it, that was stuck in traffic?

i would say that since they are obviously very immature, selfish and stupid, the judge should forbid them from marrying for 2 years...but that would only be doing these two a favor and i want to see them suffer.

 

by that logic...there's going to be a lot of freeway proposals happening soon.

he got married in august 2013, separated in april 2014, and has been dating this dumb chick for 1.5 years.

 

I think sterilization would be a reasonable punishment.

I live in Houston, of course I drive in traffic, it is what it is. I don't stress about it, I put on some tunes....relax, and coast to work. Why get angry about something I can't control.

All of you saying that spot is a dumpster, there are more places romantic blah blah... I guarantee you there is a more romantic spot than the place you proposed and there could always be someone judging you of your choice of a proposal.

So this spot meant something special to this couple, so be it, who are you to judge them. Everyone is always looking to put someone down to make them feel better. Just know that the same way you look down upon ppl, there are thousands who could do the same to you and your lifestyle.

So they stopped a freeway for a few minutes, it's ok, guess what.... You're not that important for it to matter. If everyone would just chill.....maybe this world would be a happier place.
