I have a lot more faith in Yates than I ever did in Hoyer. Also, the Colts are coming off of a game where the Jags offense totally dismantled them, I expect something of a pride game for their defense, but I'm not sure they have the talent to do all that much. We'll see.

People thinking Yates will be better are delusional.

Hoyer put up a 93 QBrating this year and Yates was on the couch a few weeks ago.

Yates also just has a 74 career QBrating. Thats much better than a scrub like Mallet but below Hoyers 82.

It's too bad the best RBs BOB could picked up were Polk (because he supposedly got 150 yards against the patriots one game) and Blue, because we could use a running game.

    So more wildcat or nah?

Um....look at Hoyer's play vs GOOD teams. He can look good against the Titans, Jags, and Saints. However.......his accuracy under pressure is AWFUL. Look at the Chiefs and Pats game. Hell...look at the Dolphins' 1st half or Bengals game. Under pressure...he is NOT good. TJ Yates has played 2 game against the Jets and Bengals.....2 of the better pass rush teams......and looked much better against pressure.

Yates was on the couch a few weeks ago because he's just barely a 3rd string quality QB.....but he's still better than Hoyer who should have started the year on the couch.

You talk about QB ratings which are skewed due to the opponent you went against and the scenario you were in, such as a guy who has a lot of the season in garbage time or against weak competition vs a guy who played the Jets and Bengals defenses. In the end, the Texans have their two most impressive wins with Yates as their QB and their two worst losses on the season with Hoyer at QB.

In the Bengals game, both Yates and Hoyer played in the game and the offense only got moving with Yates....that's not a coincidence. If not for Yates....and Hoyer getting concussed in the Bengals game, the Texans are already out of the playoff hunt and talking about potentially another top draft pick.

I know you have an irrational love for Hoyer for whatever reason, but even you have to be able to see that.

Yes Hoyer sucks against good teams. That's pretty much what an average QB does.

But if you think Yates is better, that's just delusional based on what they've done in their careers

This is the same argument you used for Mallet.

Career stats just don't lie, Hoyer is average while Mallet and Yates are scrubs called on in emergency situations

Yates has a history of winning big time games already. Hoyer none at all. I'm good going with the guy that's won important games for us already and ready as a fan to live with the result.

You are half right, which for you is impressive. Mallett and Yates are scrubs.....but they are still better than Hoyer who has shown his entire football career that he has no business being on an NFL Roster.

Since you want to talk about career stats, why not compare career playoff stats? Oh yeah, that's right, Hoyer has never sniffed the playoffs while Yates won the first playoff game in Texans history.

I don't know where your ridiculous love for Hoyer comes from, but it certainly has no basis in reality.

Imagine how much the Yates legend will grow if he yet again leads the Texans to the playoffs. He'll be the guy who has led the Texans to the playoffs 2 out of 3 total appearances if he can be good enough for the team to win with him this time around.

This is really pathetic, even by your standards.

Hoyer has an 82 career qbrating
    Yates is 74
Mallet is 63 (below tebow and vince)

Yates won a playoff game because Schaub got hurt and that team had tons of talent. His qbrating in the playoffs is 53.

    Breaking stats down further:
    Hoyer- 58% completion, 7.2 y/a, 37-25 td-int
    Yates- 58%, 6.6, 6-7
    Mallet- 53%, 5.2, 5-7

    Lol on Mallet, just Lol.

    That is absolutely pathetic.

He's clutch for sure and a great story. So refreshing to have him as our backup compared to what we previously had

The Colts are really bad though.

    This is very winnable.

Though no line has been posted yet

I know your love for Hoyer will never die, but fortunately it won't prevent him from getting concussions that lead to Texans wins. Hoyer truly should get credit for getting hurt at just the right time to force the Texans into upgrading the QB position for the hardest games. He let us down a bit in the Pats game by waiting so long before the concussion that Yates couldn't make up for him, but no one is perfect. At least he's staying down this week to give the Texans a chance at their first ever win in Indy.
