The Baltimore Ravens decided to sign Ryan Mallett after the quarterback assured them he has received professional help for personal issues that contributed to his downfall with the Houston Texans, according to a league source.

I wonder if he has to forfeit his remaining termination pay now that he's signed to another team's active roster. The way it's written makes it sound like he can double-dip.

"Mallett was eligible for termination pay for the remainder of his Paragraph 5 base salary under the NFL collective bargaining agreement. He filed for it and is receiving $1.47 million through a one-time mechanism available for vested veterans to receive 10 more weekly $147,058 game checks despite being off the roster."

 

It's funny because he's too dumb to earn their playbook in that short of time, and they shouldn't keep him around next year, either. Maybe they think he's better than Schaub?


I'd rather have a broken, old Schaub. At least he's dependable. Right down to being dependable to throw a pick six each start.

 

Wow, that almost makes it sound like he was an alcoholic and it was hangovers that were preventing him from making team practices/meetings on time.
