<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tPVHblzNDVM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I can just imagine Ty trying to implement some of his stuff into the offense, when Morey comes down from his office storming onto the practice court: "NO! Bad Lawson! Go back to the three point line and practice your 2 seconds left on the clock decison making!"
"So we trade Lawson, Brewer and Jones, they haven't done **** this season arghh. Lawson is an alcoholic and even ****s up in the four minutes he plays, worst Morey gamble everrr. Brewer has to be the worst NBA player currently, omg that guy does everything wrong, I hate his guts. Jones is so incredibly soft and bricks every layup, has to be the worst PF we ever had. So, team xy gives us their key players and best youngster for these three, because Lawson is an all-star caliber PG and floor general, Brewer is elite in transition and Jones is a really good prospect and starter-material. These three would improve their positions and rotation so much! It makes so much sense for both sides!!! "
Considering Morey got Josh Smith and Corey Brewer for a bag of chips and 3 year old gum stuck to the bottom of his shoe I think he can pull something off.
Josh Smith still couldnt' find a contract a little bigger than the vet minimum even after the year he had here, and Brew was traded for what he was worth back then and since then his value has plummeted even more. So no. Lawson remains worthless and hard to move and Brewer requires picks to dumb. The Haywood TPE that was as big as Lawson's expiring got nothing and it was more precious because it could be combined and Lawson's option is before FA which lowers the value of the contract even more.
I posted this idea in another thread Howard, Ariza, Jones and Terry for Chandler, Markieff, Warren, Booker and a 1st. Beverley / Lawson Harden / Booker / Thornton Warren / Brewer / Dekker Motie / Markieff / Harrell Chandler / Capela Try to dump Brewer, Lawson and Chandler at the deadline or in the off season.
NBA Trade Machine at ESPN says this fails. Then the link you can save ends up saying it works. Something tells me it fails because the salary difference is beyond 125% for them.
Sensible posts, thumb up mate. This thread and the proposed trades of late is really becoming a laughing stock at other teams forum out there. Howard for Horford, do it Morey !
The easiest way to salvage this season is do Lawson for Jack + Bogdanovic and Jones + Brewer for Kieff. You purge yourself of the three worst players on the team and get back contributors. Bev/Jack Harden/Bogdanovic Ariza/Kieff D-Mo/Kieff Dwight/Capela Rockets still won't be contenders but they will make the Playoffs for sure.
Noah, Mirotic, McDermott + pick to Rockets Howard, Ariza and Jones to Bulls Gibson to 3rd team for pick and expiring Or possibly Noah to 3rd team and Gibson to Rockets. Try to dump Brewer, let Lawson expire Beverley Harden McDermott / Dekker Mirotic / Harrell Capela / Motie + pick and bunch of cap space.
No. Have chicago absorb Brewer too and ask for both the Bulls pick and the Sac pick. Because such a trade ensures that the Bulls will be the no.2 in the east and give them a pretty good chance to even go to the finals. They have to pay a premium to fill all their holes with one trade.
He had last summer (kept secret by the organisation) a serious surgery in his knees and it was leaked months and months later and some even said he would never be the same again. (tried to be denied by the franchise- but now it's proved right). Then this summer he went to that Cali center and they said he was fully healthy but you have to understand that because of his style and his offensive deficiency even if he lost 10% of his athleticism would make them completely 0 in offence. He was overrated to begin with and only earned DPOY because of the Chicago press machine.
I've accepted that this team can't move forward as presently constructed, and am ready to begin what I hope will be a very short rebuilding process. Step #1: Trading Dwight This isn't as simple as "get the most you can from a team that wants him". Dwight has a de facto trade veto with that player option for next season, and in general, stars don't get traded to teams they don't want to be on. Any team we trade Dwight to has to meet 5 criteria: 1) They need a center 2) Be at the right point in their cycle to invest in a "win now" player 3) They have to be on Dwight's list 4) They must have something we want 5) They need to be able to trade for him...ie send out enough salary to meet CBA rules Need a Center LA Lakers Miami - They have Whiteside, but because he's an early bird unrestricted free agent, it will be very difficult for Miami to keep him. Boston OKC Dallas Philly Charlotte Indiana Washington Portland Orlando Milwaukee Denver Right Point in their Cycle Miami Boston OKC Dallas Charlotte Indiana Washington Orlando Milwaukee Denver Dwight's List Miami Boston OKC Dallas Indiana Washington Orlando - Reconciliation Something the Rockets want Miami - Winslow and Whiteside Boston - Tons of stuff...players, picks....you name it Indiana - Myles Turner, Christmas Washington - Otto Porter and Kelly Oubre Orlando - Hezonja, Gordon, etc. Necessary salaries to complete trade Miami - Deng, Anderson, Haslem, Udrih Boston - David Lee, Amir Johnson Washington - Hilario, Gortat Orlando - Frye (this one is a stretch) The Trades Miami Miami isn't simple. You really need Deng in the trade to make it work, but they would have to include Winslow to entice the Rockets to trade with them, leaving them without a SF. Actually, I'm not going to bother with a trade proposal because it's very hard to see how Miami comes up with the right mix of salaries and assets to make this work. Boston Now this is more like it. David Lee and Amir Johnson make this much easier to grease the CBA wheels. Here's the deal though.....Dwight would be their backup to Cousins. If they can't get Boogie, I could see them paying a modest amount for Dwight.....but don't get crazy. Dwight + Thornton for Lee + Smart + Zeller + More Favorable of Celtics or Mavericks 1st (sorry...no Nets pick) Boston doesn't lose anyone critical to their current or future success and they keep the Nets pick. Houston gets a couple of prospects and a 1st. Boston has so many prospects and picks that this trade could form into an almost infinite number of variations. Washington Like Boston, Washington is good potential trade partner due to their assets and salaries, and I think they have a big incentive to get a rim protector like Dwight. Dwight + Thornton for Gortat + Oubre Jr. + Anderson + Temple + Wash 2016 1st + Wash 2017 Swap Rights You'd need a 3rd team to take Temple, but that shouldn't be too difficult if you throw in a low 2nd. I actually like the idea of Gortat as a high minutes backup to Capela. He should be able to play with both Capela and DMo. Oubre is a solid prospect. Washington won't put a ton of value on their 2016 1st, since they want to keep their cap open for Durant. Where I think Morey will squeeze them is with that 2017 swap. If Dwight leaves them in free agency and Durant stays in OKC, that could be a top 10 pick. Orlando This is kind of just a feel good story that would bring some reconciliation between Dwight and Orlando fans. It's not an extremely easy trade, but it's possible. Dwight + TJones + Thornton for Frye + Smith + Oladipo + Hezonja Harder to see this one. Dwight and Orlando may not want to reconcile, and the salaries/players might not fit. Conclusions Boston and Washington make the most sense, and I lean toward Washington. I think you can sap more assets from them given their situation, and I like the prospects/assets coming back more.
I don't see that as fit for Chicago, but I could be wrong. Between Gasol and Noah, they've got a quality center rotation, and I have a hard time seeing why Chicago would want to give up a ton of assets for a position of relative strength.
First of all REPPED finsraider for your logical and well thought post. Secondly you should include Chicago because their whole frontcourt is too old and can leave for nothing (Pau, Noah). Unfortunately Washington trading for Dwight automatically takes them out of the Durant sweepstakes and they also have embraced with dubious results a very fast pace which makes even more doubtfull they will go for Dwight. You also have to include Phoenix only because of their owner. He is impatient, wants immediate results and wants a "Star". Indiana can get Dwight in FA in 6 months if they want for free. Bird is not an idiot or impatient like the Suns and the Washington GM. The Whiteside -Dwight trade idea is just bullcrap made from a hack like Sheridan and doesn't even deserve mention or consideration. Now ...Charlotte is interesting. On one hand they have one of the most impatient owners who is also very active..on the other hand though this seasons results WITHOUT a real defensive center and their fast pace makes them a ?. Can they pay Batum 25 million while going after Dwight? I want to add also Portland and the Pelicans as darkhorses. As for the rest of your list Mil, OKC , Denver and Orlando have centers and should not show even any interest. One team that should be interested as well is the Knicks unfortunately because of the insistence of Jax to play the triangle Dwight is no fit. They did go after Lopez in the end, who is no fit of the triangle either, but he only got 13 per, which is about half of Dwight's salary. Who knows though, maybe Melo will threaten to demand a trade? Will any of those teams be on Dwight's list of destinations? Will he even have a list or will he want to test FA and choose his destination on his own?
Chicago would seem a decent destination for Dwight actually (if Pau were part of the ship-out, but probably not to us), although that team doesn't often make midseason trades.
