nonstop pr campaign by media, government, Hollywood elites to make people care about climate change, and no one does it speaks well of our country
Our countries rep is doing fine, maintaining the stability of our climate should be a pretty compelling issue for the same people that say they value every life. To deny the science is just rationalizing convenience.
Only 22% don't care. Just making it easier to read. again, making it easier to read Yes, it does. It doesn't speak well for GOP.
Funny thing is you could switch out "climate change" for pretty much every other major social issue of our time to get a view of what the Commodores of the world sounded like throughout history.
Time to stop the poltical correctness regarding Chris Christie. He's morbidly obese. You don't get that fat by just being inactive and not eating enough vegetables/fruits. He's overeating (maybe even binge eating). Your body doesn't tell you to eat so much you kill it. It's very possible he has a mental illness. That's nothing to be ashamed of (it can be fixed), but he is not fit to run for president at this time.
The one time I've ever seen Chris Christie was at Pat's King of Steaks in Philly... his convoy of black SUVs had one side of the triangular block closed off. I could see him feverishly stuffing his face with a very large cheesesteak (cheese wiz with onions). It looked like a regular event though because no one else there was especially surprised.
Im sure you would feel different if it was your family that was affected, please go tell the families of those that lost loved ones that this is an outlier situation and nothing of significance needs to be done
Please tell the families of the PP attacks that Christian right wing extremism isn't a problem and is an outlier situation. Please tell the families of the victims of snack machines toppling over that it's just an outlier. See, I can play the emotional card too. Still doesn't change the fact that 99.999% of Americans will never be affected by any form of violent terrorism. There are domestic and economic issues that will actually affect us that are much more important. Besides, the terrorists want you to be little p*****s.
Statistics and reality say it's an outlier situation. I could find any number of issues that affect more families and result in more deaths. Billions upon billions of dollars are being spent combating terrorism so I'd say something quite significant is being done.
Well, most humans just don't have the specs for the modern information age. We evolved to understand the existence and identity of about 150 other human beings -- that's the "Dunbar number," named after Robin Dunbar. Once upon a time, even in the 20th century, we all shared certain key figures in our 150. Maybe Walter Kronkite, a few key politicians most everyone respected, even if they disagreed with them. But with so many media faces and so many internet voices and sources, we are reverting to very basic tribalism, and I don't see it going away. Mine and yours 150 has almost no overlap with the 150 of Commodore and bigtexxx, basso and co. You and I might respect John Stewart, and they might respect Rush Limbaugh, who seems to us a fantastical alien from a universe without facts. Data and information is now tribal. We huddle with our own totems of belief, our own mythologies for how a complex world operates. "The oligarchy must go." "Liberals are ruining this country." "The world is catastrophically warming." "Climate change is a massive hoax to make liberals rich (somehow)." It's very depressing. I'm thinking another sabbatical from D&D is mos def in order, and I'm definitely going to tune out from national politics. The big money will control it anyway. Working locally is the only thing that makes sense, the only way to make a difference. Cheers.
Appeal to emoiton is pretty much about 95% of GOP rhetoric in the presidential debates. "OBAMA BETRAYED AMERICA!" Really?
It was difficult to watch. All of it. And poor Carly, she didn't even get to speak. If the Repubs want to offer Donald as their strongest candidate, so be it. The election will go down as one of the biggest landslides in history. I don't understand how anyone, republican or democrat, could support The Donald. Why would anyone vote for someone with such sinister, polarizing values? Is it because there is no one else to support? I'd rather lose voting for someone with decent, moral ideas than vote out of desperation for a person who is nothing more than a TV personality at this point.
the funny thing is that even if trump does not get nomination (which it looks like he will) the republicans are toast. it does not matter who they nominate. trump has single-handedly turned the base against the establishment candidates and even turned them against fox news (megan kelly). for these freaks it is either trump or cruz. if republicans go with an establishment candidate they will be pissed. and neither trump nor cruz stands a chance in a general election. i hate hillary clinton and have only voted democrat for president once in my life, but i will literally run to the polls to vote for her if they nominate one of those two (or anyone else but rand paul)
I agree - if you are fat or if you are cuckold you are fit to lead. These are the standards we need as a litmus test for leadership. I want a body builder with a biggggggggg texxxas size weiner who's going to pork his woman well so she doesn't leave him to be the next prez. that's what we need to deal with that P****Y Putin, a big swinging weiner right texxxxx? You want to put it in Putin! Admit it!
