Lol not at all. I was just proud that he finally benched the starters for coming out with no effort...then gave in right after that.

Should have stayed with the bench. Should have played KJ and everything and made the starters watch the rest of the game. What he ended up doing is worse, because it shows he'll give in to them.

Unfortunately this will not work because we are not prepared to give a message even if a victory has to be sacrificed because we are a team with contending aspirations and JB is young and doesn't have the trust and support as other coaches.
Which leaves only hard practices, booty camps but can he even do that? This makes the players hate their coach always sooner or later.
Defence and communication isn't established in one practice it takes several hard practices. Instead of that, we decided to focus on shooting and navy seal speakers.
We should have defence practices every day. Harden will have to learn to speak first because he doesnt' and it's obvious. And until he does he will have to spit blood and sweat everyday in practice that will be like hell.

So either play defence, or have to break your back in 2 hours long practices every single day it's his choice.

Agreed, he is the player from two years ago that got us to the 8th seed and lost in the first round. I don't want that Harden. I want the Harden that was engaged on defense and didn't make excuses about his minutes. He sucked it up and played hard and smart. One major difference from 2 years ago was the pace of the offense. Right now he's playing every play like it's the last 20 seconds of the game and we're down 2. Truth is we're down 20 and it's the middle of the 3rd quarter.

This sucks losing. Everyone needs to improve. Harden included. Start with his unnecessary turnovers while bringing the ball across half court. Pressuring him when he's too far away to score is the best risk an opposing defense can take. Get a turnover there and you've got 2 guaranteed points. No one is going to run back for a Harden turnover. Most players are too far behind and Harden is still looking for the ball or a foul that ain't coming.

Jim Lovell cut out when he said this, "Houston, we've had a problem. The ball stopped".

That's true, but ball movement makes players better because they get the ball in better situations. I know we've missed wide open shots, but still, if it moves more the paint will open up.

A sloppy turnover near the halfcourt line sets up the worst defense in the long history of the game, an uncontested breakaway. Let Ty play point guard. He rarely calls his own number.

Other than Trevor Ariza, every player on the team gambles frequently, even Dwight with his block attempts. Every gamble that doesn't pay off means you're out of position. If you're out of position, you can be exploited. Very often you are and it leads to high percentage shots. We didn't gamble this much last year and we won more games.

We will if he plays defense. He's even good at it. That's why we got 2nd seed last year. It was all him. That's why he was voted MVP by the players. He led the team by example.

That's true, he did. It seems like it lasted 10 minutes then Belinelli hit 3 straight from downtown and the lead became insurmountable. We could have sustained that 9 points if we were tied, but we don't seem to think defense matters until the midpoint of the 4th quarter. Then we lose.

JB, put two TVs on either side of the locker room. Sign on one says, "Lose" and it shows bad defense on repeat. The other says, "WIN!!!" and it shows good defense on repeat. Both sets of highlights are from this year, from the Rockets. Watch who gathers around the 'WIN' TV and give them the minutes. If someone takes a bat that's been placed by you and destroys the 'Lose' TV, make them captain and play them until they ask to rest.

I hate to break it to you but that's the Rockets coaching staff game plan. Even Mchale said it before they want three's early in the clock. JB called it early offense. My overall point though is that we know that this isn't last year's Harden. But the Harden from before that wasn't the problem for everything either he just needs other players who can create their own shots like Lin and Parsons. Defense was bad but we won 50+ games. This year our role players can do anything. They cant get their own shots, can't shoot the three, can't defend, can't rebound, there's no help.

In most of the first half he just floated around, on both sides of the ball, it picked up a little near the end of the 2nd, but Dwight sabotaged our attempt at a run with dumb fouls.

Then in the 2nd half after the benchings, really, Harden gave it his all on both sides of the ball, scoring, creating, even sticking with his man on defense and boxing out, he was really really really good in the 2nd half, a complete 180 from first half james harden, if it wasn't for the beard i might have thought they were different people. Unfortunately we have Dwight Howard, who was exactly like useless first half dwight howard, through a combination of terrible post skills, more dumb fouls and no attempt whatsoever to do anything continued to sabotage the team.

If we could get less of first half James Harden, that'd be nice, if we could get more of 2nd half james harden, that'd also be nice, if we could get rid of Dwight Howard, that would be awesome.

Defense and ball movement create easy offense. Holding the ball and bringing it up slowly do not.

Howard is quietly checking out because his pride is hurt due to harden self proclaiming he`s the mvp. Also the way harden plays does not help to inspire his teammates.

    We will be fine.

Season is setting up perfect to play Gs in round one where we pull off the upset to their historical season.

    $22m 4 points (2/7), 4 rebounds, 5 fouls.

    $15m 33 points (10/18), 7 rebounds, 6 assists

Guess which player gets 95% of the blame on these parts?

That other 22 million dude is 30 something and getting more injury prone by the day.....lol

You just cannot compare the thing. I give Harden credit for being durable but he is still playing no Defense.

I thought Howard claimed he was going to be "playoff Dwight every night". 4 rebounds in 30 minutes people. 4 boards.

i am in no way saying dwight is playing well, but this is so childish.

why dont you dig out the game stats from the night before where harden only scored 10, then?

you can go back and forth with this all day. Theres plenty of blame to go around but you're so focused on giving Harden a pass by taking Howard down instead.

I thought harden claimed he was going to be solid defensively. Oh wait he's said he's "tired" and can't give that effort on both ends

If we even make the playoffs Golden State is going to put the whole thing in. The whole city will feel dirty and violated after.

Since when do you take what athletes take seriously?

Harden also says he's the best player in the league.
