Cruz doesn't impress me much. He's a better choice that Trump and I'd vote for him over Hillary but he just doesn't inspire. Christie REALLY looked good to me as a candidate tonight. He would wipe the floor with Hillary. Rubio was on the defensive much of the night especially on immigration. He was my choice early on as my choice for the nominee and still might be but Christie really strikes me as maybe a better candidate. Jeb should just drop out. Good man. Bad politician with a name that the country has moved on from. Carly earning herself a cabinet position with her debate performances. The only candidate that I actually learned something from tonight. Seems very thoughtful on how to defeat ISIS recruiting. Kascich. Good man. Probably a good VP choice. Never gonna get the nomination. Paul. Can he just pack it in? He's annoying as hell. Trump. Probably will never vote for him, but tonight he looked ok. Looks like he thinks hes won it and doesn't want to take shots at others who he'll need for support later on vs. Hillary. Carson. Showed up well and looked like he had the chops to master Foreign Policy. Still, I think his time is over. Could potentially be a running mate.
What Trump brings to the table is treatment of jeb and his brother that they so deserve. Too bad John Kerry couldn't do that.
Because fear rhetoric draws in votes with conservative psychology. 99.99% of Americans will never be affected by Islamic terrorism except in the form of our civil liberties being slowly taken away. That is the meta way of looking at this whole 'Islamic terrorism' threat hoopla. I blame 24/7 news coverage and social media. Superimpose the current Islamic terrorism dynamic that exists today to 100 years ago, this topic would just be a minor bullet point.
Yep. They made it sound like we had to dodge IEDs and sniper fire on the way to the mall. Terrrrrrror!
at the same time something needs to be done. 9/11 did happen you know. potentially there is the possibility that something like that or worse will happen again one day. i don't really know what that "something" is though. you can't sit there and wait for it to happen. you also can't attack every single country in the middle east, and north africa. nsa the internet and everyone's privacy to death, i dont think that is viable. nor something that would help all that much because of carrier pigeons. the one thing i would think that could help in the future is to use tech to develop other types of energy sources. if they didn't have money from oil their reach would seem to recede. otherwise i have no idea.
Bernie Sanders is a moron <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Fifth <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GOPDebate?src=hash">#GOPDebate</a> is over. Like the first, not one word about income inequality, climate change, or racial justice. The Rs are out of touch.</p>— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) <a href="https://twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/676979429147598848">December 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
the hatred for Cruz on the left, especially for his effeminate physical appearance and mannerisms, is visceral only a matter of time before the accusations of closet homosexuality
The percentage of Americans affected by those issues listed by Sanders is greater than the percentage of Americans that will ever be affected by Islamic terrorism. Out of touch is right.
We have a real concern about our national security and safety but this guy would rather speak about BLACKLIVESMATTER. Unelectable!
There has always been a concern about national security. There's have always been threats and there will always be threats. If this debate was about foreign affairs, was there any mention of the TPP or anything regarding international trade?
Bernie Sanders is very much a joke, but he's an honest joke. He really believes the BS that he spews so that puts him over Hillary in my eyes. As to the Republicans, the only one I'd even consider voting for is Rand Paul and he's by no means a perfect candidate. Christie and Trump are total embarrassments that shouldn't be allowed on the main stage. Carson is probably a really cool person, but has no business running for president.
Bernie Sanders graduated from the University of Chicago and has been in Congress for almost 15 years, working with and understanding the inner workings of fiscal policy. Do you honestly believe you know more about fiscal policy at the federal level more than Bernie Sanders to in order to make a judgement on whether his policy position are a 'joke'? I think he knows what he's doing more so than you do.
This is what passes for the sober leadership of the Free World? The world is devolving into a Maury Povich Show. * social science theoretical musing: As we move toward ubiquitous information, the sheer volume available becomes too much to consider. Only the loudest most compelling information (true or not) breaks through to get noticed. The real, complex and unsatisfying proposals that might be actually politically feasible get lost when the simplistic, bombastic ideas drown them out in the public consciousness. The general public does not have the time or the interest for the reality of politics. -carry on-
