just attitude... which is why i'd be entertaining offers if i were DM... you cant coach attitude... Hard-on has shown his true colors - dish him or be his b**** for the duration of his contract... I'd rather have a middle of the pack group of guys that work hard - than coddle a self entitled prima donna and be at the mercy of his "mood" - jus sayin...
he had durant and westbrook to play off of..who's his durant and westbrook here? ty lawson? PSHH don't make me laugh.
Well he can at least try. Lawson did average 10+ assists last year. And now DMo provides a legit post threat
I remember Harden having to sit out a few games 2 seasons back with really swollen feet. You guys seen any pics of Harden and his feet lately?
There are always conflicting goals. Part of the logic puzzle is the amount of talent on the team. Theoretically, we are a title contender on paper. In that line of thought it would be beneficial in the long run for harden to save his body for the playoffs and not attack the basket all the time. However, we also aren't winning games. Harden knows he will have to play more physically and risk getting banged up or worn out. The truth is there is an efficient level of how much attacking Harden should do game to game. Its very hard to quantify and find that though. The same question could apply to Howard playing back to backs. Our superstars have succumbed to the notion that they are injury prone and need to be careful. On the one hand playing less and being in " attack mode " less definitely lowers your chances of injury. On the other hand there is a chance you get injured doing anything ... this is why playing less has that correlation. To expect Harden to " be the man " and carry the load every night is a bit of a dream. His first season here he did that , but was broken down come playoffs, also we were matched up against OKC with inferior talent. All this being said, you play the game on paper , and then you play it for real. This is why McHale milked 56 wins out of the team last year, because guys played hard. Our team has never been smart the last few seasons. Or rather they never have played "smart". Its obvious that playing like the spurs and GS is the best way to play with lots of ball movement etc. Everyone wants to move the ball. Our team is just inconsistent in its focus. As much as I absolve Harden of carrying the physical load, he should be fully capable of being locked in every game. He seems a smart enough dude and has proven to be mentally capable the last few seasons. I dont know what is wrong, and I dont know if anyone knows whats wrong. Not all problems have an easy solution. Not all problems have one cause. Basketball is a team game played at a very high level, and we have alot of minor issues that when piled up are making it very difficult to win. Last year, Harden was not among those affected. He carried us brilliantly for the first half of the year. So far things just arent breaking our way. I think instead of trying to actively blame and change our team, we need to take an internal approach and try to fix what we already have. Yes, the league adapts and past success is no guarantee of future performance. However, smarter people than me with more information believed that this team could work and the talent is still there. Harden has been inconsistent this year, but he has also carried us in wins. You guys are biting the hand that feeds you. /rant
He is just in a personal mission. He's goal is to have the best stat sheet ever. Defense doesn't show up on the stat sheet, steals do. He is always hogging the ball looking for his selfish shot or dumps it lat second to get an assist. He's not dumb but very smart. You got dumb fans here rubbing one out everytime they see Harden get a better stat than Michael Jordan or Hakeem
Funny how the officials weren't calling the contact on James Harden's drives, but were calling feather touch fouls for Denver...
Yep. Harden was actually playing off the ball yesterday and seemed reluctant to shoot. He's at the best when he's "ball hogging" whatever that is.
and playing off ball got him some wide open shots that he did make. The whole point from the beginning was to get him shots that are easier instead of having to take all the difficult shots hes accustomed to taking and with that many hoped his defense could at least be respectable with the lesser workload. Well we know how that goes since it's at its lowest point this season
yeah well when you make a consistent effort to just dribble up the ball to the 3 pt line and shoot while noone else touches it with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. yeah that's kind of on the ball hog side i would say
