I wanted to have signed him for cheap too, but I understood why we didn't (both of my teams). I'm a K_Butter fan, so I have been following very closely his comeback and well let's say I don't have high hopes for his carreer anymore. And he's not a good shooter, his stroke is very slow and strange and he can only shoot when he's unguarded completely and has a lot of time. The reason this trade can't happen it's because it is with Philly. The team with hands down the worse guard rotation in the league which happens as well to be under immense scrutiny right now and won't even dare to trade Marshall without an average/non D-league pg coming back. (there is a very good study by Pelton that shows the effect on ACL injuries on the carreer of players. In Marshall's age and taking into account the athleticism pre injury, chances are that this injury is a carreer ender Plus historically it takes 12 months for a comeback from ACL (Marshall is around 11 months right now) and after the comeback it takes 1 full season for the player to be "100%". ACL is a 24 month injury.).
He has slow feet and doesn't REALLY hustle. He tries I suppose. Ever since he went down with a suspicious hamstring the Def rating of the Bucks went from dead last to top4. Ofc it's not just him but it's him too. I don't want him to come back and play. I want to get rid fo him but I dont' want to trade him to the Rockets because I dont' want to have to watch him anymore. Keep the Trashquez away please.
Sorry I can't edit, but wanted to add that Trashquez will not make the Western trip which is now extremely suspicious considering how long he has been out and basically it's almost a sign he WILL get traded.
Lawson, Terrence, KJ out. Nene and Jack in. Figure out who goes where. There are several possibilities. Involve picks as needed. This trade is currently being discussed and might happen tomorrow (12/15) or sometime between tomorrow and 12/20/2015. Talks ongoing between HOU, BRK, WAS. Also, Ariza could be in this trade instead of KJ with Nene, Jack, others in.
Mmmmmm, not convinced of that. We might actually pick up a $10-16 million a year player with years left on his deal down the road if the price is right.
Lawson, Jones(TPE) to Brooklyn KJ, Bargdanovic and Karasev to Washington Nene, Jack to Houston Works financially for all teams involed I believe. I'm still shaky on how TPE's work in trades, Brooklyn would have to use Kirelenko's TPE to absorb Jones or else they would be taking in too much salary.
Someone explain to me how trading KJ, Jones and Lawson for Jack and freaking Nene is a good deal... This team needs shooters more than anything. Ariza is a "forced" shooter and is not a consistent one. Brewer sucks. Jones can't shoot and as much as we want D-Mo to be a stretch 4 his strength is in the post. I don't see how Jack and Nene of all people will be upgrades.
Hmmmm, agreed we need shooting. Don't agree we need shooting more than anything else. This team is 9-2 when it outrebounds its opponent. It is 3-10 when it gets outrebounded. This team needs paint D, rebounding, and shooting. And they're all very close in importance.
Nene is injured and out and IF there is any truth to TJ to Washington (which is a good match and one of the teams I said should be interested), better have a lottery first coming back.
*lottery protected I meant. Washington is under too much pressure anyway to make the POs. They can take a gamble for TJ since the teams with the most capspace are all set in PF.
Wizards have lost Beal for a couple weeks. That's a more important loss to them than Nene. Nene is not in their future. On top of all that, Wizards are playing small ball. And they have the 2016-17 cap to absorb Ariza's salary and still chase Durant. Ariza/Jones might get you Nene and their first (lottery protected).
That makes the trade really complicated, Washington would have to take on like, 5 players, meaning they would have to send out like 4 more players, which neither Houston or Brooklyn can financially take on. Jones, KJ, Bargdanovic and Karesev to Wizards (16 players on roster, they have to cut someone) Lawson, Temple, Hollins(PlumleeTPE) to Nets Nene, Jack to Rockets. I guess that works financially but is a messy trade.
NO. That's a godawful trade for the Rockets. Ariza on his own is worth more than a lottery protected first. The reason they should be interested in Jones is because of his RFA. If they get Ariza how do you propose they sign Durant? They would let go of Nene anyway since he was expiring, and Beal's cap hold is very big. While with Jones they can wait to see what happens with Durant and then gamble with two rfa. Since the teams wtih the most capspace in Portland, Lakers, Boston and Philly are all set in PF, they would only offer Jones a big deal to mess with Washington but I don't think they would dare to because they would be left with a severely overpaid PF. So it's not a bad gamble. Ariza must NOT be traded. You can't find 3+D wings anymore and NONE so lowly paid. Unless we decide to tank and even then we can't sell so low.
