Might be "creating" the opportunity to move him. Season not going well, make coaching change, the inevitable disgruntling of players happens, can't get a definitive answer from Conley on his likelihood of resigning, try and move him for something before losing him for nothing. He'd be great fit for teams like Boston, Utah, the Pelicans. The Rockets would obviously love to have him, but no assets to trade. He'd make sense on the Knicks, but what would they trade back? The Sixers could maybe use him as the first piece to stop sucking, and try and build around Conley, Okafor, Noel, and Dario Saric... I mean, they should try and rebuild the team around Conley, really, but if he has one foot out the door already...
I would love Conley next year. That would be 3 lefties in your starting rotation with him, Harden, and DMo
He butted heads with the new owners. Plus his coaching style was too old school for them. Which is a little ironic since the grit and grind Grizzlies play a old school style of basketball.
If the Grizzlies decided to blow it up (As they should since that style of play will not cut in the West), I'll take Mike Conley! Always thought he would be a great fit next to Harden.
Lol, I knew John Hollinger would be a failure yet again in the NBA. So it's no surprise that he's on the verge of getting fired. Joerger actually seems like a competent guy from everything I've read and heard so that is a little surprising. I don't think it was his idea to try and transform that team into a run and gun style offense. I'm not sure what ownership and management was thinking in going from grit and grind to run and gun. They just don't have the personnel for that type of transformation. Rockets should give Joerger consideration as a HC for next season if he's fired. Yup, that's what I was thinking.
That's basically the norm now which in a case like this is crazy. Coaching is the last thing you think about when seeing whats happening with this team.
Trade anybody besides Howard and Harden for Conely. Two of my favorite players are going to be free agents this off season... And they just happen to be playing our positions of need. Conley and Horford. If I where Morey I'd give all of our assets to trade for one of them by the deadline and then try like hell to sign the other in the off season.
is there any way to get Courtney lee back? His 27% 3 point percentage which is currently 11 below his career average and 15 below last season would fit right in on this year's Rockets.
Why trade for Conley when he would be relegated to a spot-up shooter just like Ty Lawson is? We need a better Beverly, as the PG spot on offense is already taken up by Harden.
Lawson didn't work for us, but dayum, Conley would be pretty good next to Harden. Anyway, I'd take the Griz Coach right now. we need the grit he can teach us.
Dude, I hate dave joerger. Absolutely HATE this guy. I will abandon the team if he DOESN'T get fired.
lol, you need his affability. believe me, joerger is far from grit and grind. That was hollins personality, not joergers. Joerger is as smily as they come and he's been throwing his players under the bus left and right trying to keep his job. believe me, yall don't want this guy.
So he is safe after tonight? Is his job status on a game by game basis? If mgmt wants to fire him, they should just do it.
