The Trump show has hurt the Republicans. The Republicans need to be working on a plan to attract young voters and minorities.... And they've given all this attention to this clown.
2008 I voted Independent for the presidency, but still voted R on many local positions, at that time I did volunteer work for a few grassroots republicans in the area who I felt my values aligned with. 2012 I voted Independent for president, with a mix of Independents/Dems/Repubs for local positions. It's going to be tough for me to vote any red this time around. This party is a joke.

 

I have never voted and do not follow politics but if Trump wins the Republican nomination I will vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is.

I agree with you that all who use hate and anger as a media profit engine share blame here. Trump is the logical conclusion of decades of hate-exploiting AM radio and cable television. Get people addicted by their negative emotional response, and profit. But then, oh wait. Darn, extremism is happening.

It's so obvious. If you can only profit by upping the rhetorical ante, that has consequences for a society.

 

I never thought it would be this easy voting for Hilary. Never and still don't like her, but if its to avoid bat**** crazy you pick your poison.

 

Remember the goal is gridlock. The laws are written, the 1% is in the sweetspot of low taxes and high profits. It's just change they want to stop, not adding powers. It's proven that a disruptive insurgency can be enough to control the events of the complacent majority. Especially in gerrymandered districts using hot button social issue voters.

 

Is this what a political dynasty has been reduced to. Going full conspiracy theory just to bump up the poll numbers to 4%.

If the Republicans have true grit they will unload all their ammo on each other as they go down.

 

Psychos don't care if it they burn it all down, there delusion is it will rise from the ashes in their image.

 

Polls show Sanders running very strong against the GOP candidates and especially Trump. Part of the anger and support for Trump due to the total corporate/Wall Street domination of GOP and if more Dems stop catering to the corporate crowd a significant of the frustrated white working class will switch. Elite GOP insider appeal to Gods, guns, gays and prejudice against minorities will not hold them.

 

If trump is elected both parties would fight him on everything. Nothing would get done including his gun grabbing politics. He would be best for the lulz though.
I think Obama has been the worst president for comediens in modern history.

Many ideas sounds good on paper, but would not be practical. I am not sure Sanders can handle this country with all its problems. We do not need idealistic inspirations, we need leader who can solve real world problems.

That is exactly the problems with Republicans candidates, they are stuck in their idealistic world view.

 

Looks like the Donald is still leading in the polls.

 

Aka keep the status quo. Every proposal Bernie has suggested is well within the realm of possibility and he has fleshed out the costs of all his policies for you to see on his campaign page.

 

Just take a look at how health care reform went and you will see real world problems are not easy to solve, not to mention how the Clinton reform plans went earlier. Providing free tuition for college for example, will meet just as much resistance as healthcare reform because too many people are tied in the system.

 

If you are referring to Sander's plan meeting significant resistance by a GOP controlled house, I agree which is why there must be some way to stop gerrymandering which is the only reason the house keeps on having a GOP majoirty.
