I'm having trouble finding info on the advantages of getting a 2.0. From my understanding, the 1.0 can use all the k-cups currently in retails stores, except you can't use the carafe. If you buy the 2.0, you can use all the k-cups with the DRM, or you can just put a tape on it to trick the system if you use old k-cups (or if you do re-usable ones). If I don't plan on using the carafe, is there a reason to buy the 2.0? Will retailers carry k-cups in the future that would only work on the 2.0?
I got a 2.0 and hated it initially but once I opened it up to clip a wire to unlock the entire hidden menu and taped up part of the DRM ring to the sensor it was pretty good. Honestly, I don't know the full menu of the 1.0, but I like using the 12 and 14 ounce options that you get from the full menu of the 2.0.
I bought the Ekobrew Universal K-Cup Brewer for Keurig 2.0 and 1.0 K-cups instead. I've had it a few weeks and its great. You can buy the refillable cups, so you don't have to buy the expensive k-cups if you don't want to. The Ekobrew also allows you to restart and stop brewing if you want a little more coffee in your cup.
So I can still use all the k-cups in stores for the 1.0 correct? I guess I'm mainly wondering if they'll ever have it where the k-cups only work on the 2.0.
