Trump has always been a clown. He's never been anything more. What's sad is how many people support his clown show as if it were gospel.
I have to think (for the sake of my faith in humanity) that many of his supporters like the tone of his anti-establishment views, but do not believe he means what he says when it comes to his blatantly racist and bigoted rhetoric.
What's even more sad is how much access to education this country has, yet it's filled with some of the most ignorant and uneducated people in the world!

The Daily Show made a great point on this last night. It's allowed these racist assholes to come out of the closet. They now get to be as bigoted to their heart's content in public...and have it be ok.
It's the massive circkejerk around the whole 'pc is destorying the country' movement. In reality 'PC' is nothing more than an annoyance. Many Americans are treating 'PC' as what will destroy America and their push back is 10 fold more ridouclous than 'pc culture'.

I think the asinine student requests like that happen less than the "anti-pc circle jerk" you described and both are much less widespread than the actual PC movement that is drastically changing america. You are probably in a demographic and circle where you are much more aware of the anti-PC crowd and greatly over estimate their voice and range. There isn't much at all in the way of an anti PC movement that is truly mainstream.
