I think Rocketslegend has shown that he isn't too concerned with the truth. He just wants to push his objective with or without any truth and actual facts to back it up.

He's a scared guy who's fear has gotten the better of his reason at least going by the posts he makes here.

Do you think the people who misrepresent that mass wedding as a child wedding - they are pretty sickos to do that to try to portray them that way, right? I mean that is pure disgusting evil to use innocent people to spread hate. And then you have guys like RocketsLegend who are all too willing to spread that hate.

    It's so disturbing.

I think its a good thread that can help bring some balance to the popular perception of what Islam is all about. Its too bad that sirbaihu, instead of complaining that others aren't effusive enough in their praise, isn't offering his own thoughts on what he appreciates about Islam.

Is anyone taking this assclown OP seriously? If you that pose this question were truly honest with yourself, you'd know EXACTLY why you'd ask the question. You're really not interested in hearing the truth. What you're really interested in is trying to justify your own hatred of the way Islam is practiced by a number of its followers. That's the plain ****ing truth.

All religions have things that, if you choose to follow them, they're screwed up. I grew up Catholic, and there's plenty of screwy things about that religion. Celibate priests- and you wonder why there was/is an epidemic of priests molesting young boys. It ****ed them up in the head. Or the whole "abstain from sex until marriage"- oh, and let's also throw in there that we're against birth control- but we're also against abortion. What kind of ****ed up logic is that?

Back to Muslim, of course there are good things about the Muslim religion. You wouldn't have millions of people adhering to them if there wasn't. Many of them choose to follow the worst parts of it. Just like many Catholics used to follow the worst parts of the Old Testament (don't get me started on how ****ed up that book is- as in, a woman wearing men's clothes could be executed, for starters).

So, if you're going to look for reasons to confirm your hate of a religion- throw the Old Testament in there while you're at it. And don't pussyfoot around with this, "Well, I'm really just curious...- BULL**** you are- just be honest- grow a pair of balls and say you hate Islam and Muslims, period.

do you know catholic celibacy has it's roots in protecting catholic property from potential heirs/claims. it's only sold/preached as a promise to god but it isn't. all about protecting property and money.

not a single good has come from any religion that would/could not have come from mankind alone regardless. many atrocities however have come from mankind in the name of god/religion that would not have come without.

I don't know OP's history, so I can't speak for his mindset, but I think you are taking a huge leap. I took the OP at his/her word, and was rewarded for it by the exchange between fchowd and hyped. Even if you doubt the OP's intentions, a decent discussion still came of it.

I have read the qur'an, all of its suras and versus several times. The actual qur'an is somewhat compatible with the New and Old Testament outside the actual depiction of Jesus.

People need to realize that the qur'an is in part influenced by the world that the original follows lived in 1500 years ago. They were not formally educated and lived and participated in a world where the sense of justice was vastly different than that in the New Testament.

From the beginning Islam has had conflict and splits as to what the qur'an actually calls for and the importance of hadith and other practices. Christianity has had it's share of conflict as to the interpretation of what the real faith is, but not like Islam.

As far as what I find positive about the faith, is a double edged sword. On one hand the faith calls for a global level of devotion and discipline that is seen in other faiths. I have known some Muslims that have a level of devotion that is amazing. However, I suspect it also makes it difficult for a transition into a Western culture.

There are stark differences with Christianity in that war and fighting is a central concern/tenet in Islam. Also there are a few direct versus that discuss Allah killing and destroying Jews and Christians.

People are free (here at least) to believe what they want, but there is value in reading the qur'an. Personally I found it to be less enlightening than the New Testament. However I can see why someone can be attracted to Islam.

Also, Islam does call for charity, and I think that is overlooked. It isn't advertised but Muslims do contribute to charitable causes.

    nice response :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

As a Christian this thread is really intriguing as my Dad converted from being Muslim, to Christian. BTW you can go ahead and talk whatever you want(good/bad) about my Christian beliefs the Old Testament, does not bother me one bit, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Do not see the reason to get heated though, God bless.

Stop playing the internet tough guy, not credible to anyone who has seen your photo. Seems to be your new schtick to make these expletive-filled posts, both in the GARM and in the D&D.

Although it reminded me of that hilarious thread in the Hangout where someone played a joke on people by making it seem like a link to a hypothetical fraudster went to their own facebook profile - everyone got it and one person totally freaked out, threatened the OP, etc - you. That was actually quite hilarious.

The truth is child marriage has been going on for centuries in the middle east. THAT IS THE TRUTH! You apologists are the scum of the earth! You go out of your way to ignore the facts, for what, so you can brag about how tolerant you are?

I feel like we should respect this thread and allow Muslims to talk about the positives of their religion without criticizing it. There are enough other threads for that. I'm reading with respectful interest and genuinely enjoyed the exchange between fchowd and Hydhypedplaya.

I've made no excuse for child marriage at all. You don't know what you're talking about.

I also didn't post something that wasn't child marriage and try and claim it was. That was what you did in order to push your agenda.

Why don't you post actual facts and instead of one thing and claiming it was another, then you wouldn't have to worry about it.
