He is starting to make the other candidates seem more moderate than they were before he entered the race.

Trump represent exactly what the GOP really is. He just doesn't lie to him or anyone else about it and that's what his followers like. This policy is only a stronger version of what other GOP candidates have proposed.

Maybe the net result of what Trump is doing will be good. It certainly is showing that racism is alive and well in America given how is poll numbers go up when he proposes openly racist policies - if you can alarm conservatives then maybe he serves as a wake-up call to everyone regarding the direction we are heading down.

Trump has just taken the world one step closer to that proverbial clash of civilizations.

When Bibi rejects Trump's statement, you know it's crap.

For the love of the red, white and blue (not just the GOP), please kill this man's candidacy!

Well done by Netanyahu. Trump's statement was indefensible and wrong.

    Is Trump an ISIS puppet?

He's obviously an idiot. He's obviously trying to capitalize on American fears (however valid or invalid they are) by politicizing every current event that happens. He obviously has no knowledge of how to run a country.

The ironic thing is that by doing all the moronic things he says he would, he'd be playing right into their hands. They want racism. They want race riots. They want race wars and inequality. Its how they want to bring this country down. Cerebral terrorism.

The problem is the white-collared combover billionaire idiot, and the mouth breathers that support him are all too dumb or ignorant to realize this and/or care.

I wouldn't say that. It's 35% of Republicans, which is still pathetic.

Sadly enough this is actually very true. Trump knows what his real voter base wants, and gives it to them on a very "Sean Hannity" level of absurdity. Its exactly what they want but in the past the GOP has provided this level of bigotry only in politically corrected messaging.

Trump is just saying exactly what all these people want to hear without a filter, and using their fear to advance himself politically.

We do truly have a country and society that is becoming more and more divided in our opinions. Its not really even beliefs, social class, spirituality, etc. that is divided. I believe all people generally want the same thing. Its the OPINIONS about some things that divide the kids on the playground for a lethal battle of Red Rover.

The crazy thing is, I really don't think that a good majority of the Trump followers consider themselves bigots, or racists at all. They can totally justify their self absorbed world because it makes sense in their world because its easier for the human brain to believe what they are told rather than spending the brain waves to analyze, and its built into our DNA to look out for yourself. Trump and the GOP are smarter than we give them credit for on the other side. They are master manipulators, and it shows how scary our social climate has become due to this fear, and terrorism of the brain.

What strikes me the most is the pure cowardice of GOP candidates and party leaders who won't disown Trump.

They want the opportunity to become Trump's VP or on his power squad if he is elected.

The problem is if Trump is elected by the GOP (a very realistic possibility), then there are so many moderates in this country that will flock to whoever wins the Democratic side. It could actually be something that bonds together a significant portion of the country.

And honestly, does anyone really think that Trump would actually do the things he threatens to do if he's elected president? I think he has no idea what actually would have to happen to completely shut the borders, and even worse the economic and political hit the country will face in segregation tactics.

You are talking about other countries taking major action at least economically with sanctions, etc. against the US. Trump isn't dumb enough to do something that stupid. Then there are the billions of dollars he would have to invest in infrastructure to actually make this happen. At the end of the day, he is a businessman and he's full of hot air on this one.

Wow, that sounds like the worst job in America. You have to go around justifying all the dumb ideas Trump comes up with, you have no chance at all to win the election which is okay because you're secretly hoping you won't win and see any of Trump's plans come to fruition, and after the defeat your political reputation and career is in tatters.

Honestly, if Trump won the primary, who'd be willing to hitch his cart to him? Certainly no one who might try again in 2020 or 2024 (or ever). Someone else in the clown show like Ben Carson, I suppose, though Trump would probably need a more establishment VP to balance the ticket (I also suppose that balance isn't his thing). Maybe a governor or other politician whose career has stopped well short of any hope of running for President. Maybe Joe the Plumber.

..and while all of this conjecture about Donald Trump's presidential candidacy is (to me) side-splittingly funny....

...it's still more than a bit sobering to remember one thing:

If The Donald secures the Republican nomination for President of the United States...

...there's math that says he has a 50% chance of winning in a two-horse race.

That's scary enough right there, for me.

But who knows...maybe there's been a point to all this brinkmanship over the past few years....
