All of the above, I guess. I was big on 2k, but the amount of time required now that the game is so detailed is just too much for me. I think they took the push for sim way too far. I just don't have time to master shot releases and comb through the the playbook to get to the level of success that I'm used to on basketball games. I think I will pick up a new baseball game if one ever drops on the One.
Wow! So, setting my XBO to instant on and to do nothing per powering on/off devices worked...so now I go straight to TV and it picks up my DirecTV signal right away when using my Logitech Harmony remote to power on/off everything. I'm so happy! It's a lot better than what I was having to do!
Correction...it worked twice when I initially set it up. Now, it is back to before. Man, **** this ****! Santa comes to my house this year and I'll kill him by dropping this TV on his fat ass!
A quick question. I'm trying to budget for an xbox one at some point in my future. I wanted to know that this far in, how useful/essential/fun is the new kinect. I liked the idea of the face recognition to load profiles, or possibly use it for Skype. But I don't need any of that. I was just wondering how much people use it or wish they had one if they don't have one with their xbox one?
Well for me, I think it's become a necessity mostly because I always misplace my TV & satellite remotes. If for nothing else, I really like it for the media controls of switching channels, volume up or down, and turning it all off. I have it setup so where when tell the Xbox to turn on, it turns my TV, Satellite receiver, and amp on. Just makes things easy for me. I do use it also from time to time to move around on the dashboard by telling it to open an app or snap something. I rarely use the video although it is nice when the face recognition signs me automatically. It honestly depends on you. If you don't really care for the media stuff, and you don't care much for the things you mentioned, it probably isn't worth the $100. If I didn't have it to begin with I think I would've been fine, but I just like having it for all the convenience voice features which don't require me to turn on a controller.
The Kinect is honestly pretty worthless, and definitely not worth spending the extra money on to have one unless you are into Skyping or things of that nature. No games use it significantly, the controls are wonky and don't work as often and as easily as you'd like them to, and it's really been so negatively received Microsoft stopped including it when you purchase your console. The voice controls are really all I use it for, and the only time I use the voice controls are when I tell it to switch from TV to a game or vice versa. Just doesn't seem like something Microsoft is going to continue to develop and advance.
Thanks. That sounds pretty cool. I wasn't aware of all of that. I definitely would like that, but if the $100 makes the difference between getting now, or waiting longer, I'll get it sooner, and add the kinect later.
ItsMyFault gave you a much more in depth review, and some of the things he mentioned I didn't even know about. Go with his advice!
Yeah I get the same vibe that they probably won't develop it further. I just haven't heard much from them regarding it. The one thing I wish they would do is update it so where if you tell Kinect to change to a certain channel number. It doesn't fully recognize some channel names like "NBA TV", so if they had the channel number recognition, I would never need my satellite remote again.
There seems to be some technical challenge to being able to change channel by channel number because that has been such a glaring omission since the beginning. You can't tell me no one who worked on that One Guide Kinect BS never thought of that. People know channel numbers from repetition and are less likely to know exact channel names. It is TV 101. I'm sorry I ever heard of Kinect after all the false promises about what it would become and how integral it would be to the experience.
Yeah I'm sure they did. It sucks that it doesn't exist though. It would really help me big time for a good handful of channels that Kinect doesn't recognize by name.
I laugh at Comcast new voice control. You have to hit a button on the controller to activate it. Almost pointless.
So I didn't want to create a call of duty thread but I'm pretty pumped that the new call of duty will include a remastered version of the 1st modern warfare. All of the new call of duty's have been terrible starting with ghosts and I'm really looking forward to going back to the basics. I won't be playing the new version of the game but I'll be getting it just to play the remastered version of Modern warfare. (Also I know this is coming out for PS4 I just wanted to bump a thread to see if anyone else will be getting it)
Ugh I'm so over call of duty. It does look cool though, and since I'm a complete ****ing idiot I'll be buying the game just for the remaster. Great game.
So, what's the deal with the new "Doom" game? "Doom" used to be THE game to get back in the day on PC. Is there any hype or expectations for this game? Or, is everyone so over it at this point? Any early reviews?
Posted in Classifieds section but posting here as well: Rocket League is now downloadable for free. https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-O...k-Bundle/4503557f-a71e-4da0-8a9f-bf4b4854de0a
This is misleading. It's not free, it's free for gold members until Sunday 6/12/16. In other words, after that date you will still have to purchase it.
