IMO, the trick to rebuilding and not tanking and possibly contend, is to surround all of your scorers with defensive players. Our starting line-up should have only two scorers instead of three. The same should go for our bench. This is why i think they failed in the draft. The 14th pick should have been Kwahi Leonard and the 38th should have been Jeremy Tyler. The Motiejunas pick was fine. With these picks we would not have needed Yao anymore. We would have had the perfect mix of offense and defense on the team. We could still have a go at it with Thabeet, T-Will, Chuck and Patterson in the mix somehow. It would just take good positioning. For instance, Morris would have to play PF because he would be able to defend better. Dragic should be our 3rd SG because he could defend 2's better than he could PG's because of his speed. Sorta like they used to do with Lowry and Brooks.

I don't know if this rebuild lasts.

Look how the texans dumped there team, and retooled.

Its obvious that the team either needs to be retooled or blown up. The question is probably is which would be the easiest?
    A) Harden is only 25, so you take what around you and retool the roster threw trades, or

    B) you just dump everything for draft picks and tank.

    I dont see why option

C), Which is stay with this roster and see how it turns out is going to work. I mean the teams peak was western confrence finals, if its over with then obviously its time to make a decision A,B, OR C. This is just coming from everyone who are fans..

But stop coming around here talking about pursuit, when this team is shooting for the 8th seed and loves to get pounce on by the top 5-6 elite teams..

I don't think Mr Alexander is that interested in a championship. His priority is making money and tanking wouldn't be a huge financial hit. Which corporation want to send load of clients to see a tanking team? This isn't LA.

And here come the ignorant comments. Le$ Alexander? The same Les Alexander that just flushed 12 million dollars down the toilet because he was unhappy with a 4-7 start to the season???

Yeah that guy doesn't care about winning at all. Just about making money.

The only thing that needs rebuilding on this team is ATTITUDE....

The talent is there, the attitude is not..

When these guys play as a team on offense and defense they are as good as anyone in the nba... But the problem is getting them to play like that for 48 minutes... Hell right now I would take 30...

DMo pick was actually a steal. He was projected as a top10 pick, and only fell to 20th because of the rumors of 'bad work ethic', 'bad defense' and 'lack of passion for the game' which were false.

I dont want to be the 'loveable losers' for five years straight before you amass the necessary pieces to make a considerable move. This is Morey's master plan. I think he just failed to address the outside shooter and probably didnt expect to have so many players regress at the same time.

Big question is what 'retool' player is really going to change the culture enough. Only way I can see it happening is if you move Dwight plus several other key rotation pieces and get something significant in return. Not sure moving mediocre players for more mediocre players is going to work this time.

Nothing wrong with bumping old threads if they are relevant.

I agree with you, that they have a lot of talent but they are good shooters. They just performed above what they usually did last year. Morey needs to get better shooters. They don't have to be stars just get some shooters who are motivated and can shoot above 35% from three.

Actually they just need to move the ball and get take the open shot...

Too many iso's and not enough ball movement especially when Harden is in the game. When they are moving the ball the offense is clicking and the defense picks up...

Just need a total attitude adjustment..
