This is a better tanking plan that philly could have ever imagined.

    1. Byron Scott is the coach
    2. kobe having the green light on any shot because it's his farewell tour
    3. Bench your last 2 first round draft picks under the guise of the team needs more energy

never forget, this team needs to be one of the 3 worst teams or they lose their pick.

I think Scott is straight up blatantly tanking and doesn't give a ***** because he knows next year he will be fired for sure.
On the bright side (there is a little bright side here) young players who lose their starting spot very often react by raising their perfomance. Already has happened to many this year. Hopefully will happen with Randle as well.

100% chance that they will get the #1 overall pick even though the Sixers are tanking for the ages...

Kobe finally stepping down terrifies me, becuase now the Lakers could get a top pick, a huge free agent or 2, and be another dynasty in the making.

Kobe was single handedly keeping the Lakers down, no great player wanted to go play with him, so the draw of LA meant nothing. No hollywood is open for business with possibly a great young player to team with.

If Byron Scott discussed this with Lakers management before the announcement, he'll be fine this season. Otherwise, he could be gone in a few weeks.

Nothing they do is about winning, like starting Kobe

They are going after Ben Simmons

They need Kobe to keep chucking to away crowds cheering to see his last game. It's the ultimate excuse for tanking.

He is gone next year no matter what he does, they will get a real coach when Kobe is gone.

I believe he's said he wants to be a Laker as well? Anyway, the guy is a monster and it would be good for their franchise. Tank away.

Greenie rants about how the NBA shouldn't give the 1st pick to the 6ers because they aren't trying to win, but says nothing about the fakers doing the same thing! HIP O CRIT

Scott is there to facilitate the Fareware Kobe tour and get a top three pick for next year
Too bad he can't develop the young talents this year
Once Kobe is gone so is Scott

Scott again shows coaching doesn't matter. This is a guy who led a team to 3 straight Finals.

    Such garbage.

Takes Randle out of the starting lineup but yet they still start Hibbert who shoots worse than Dwight.

They want to lose, simple as that. The public "strategems" announcements are to cover their ass so they won't be penalized for intentionally sabotaging their own team.

Scott and the Lakers are like the anti-Morey team.

Morey has/had to build a championship caliber roster while attempting to remain competitve.

Scott and the Lakers are trying to tank while pretending to remain competitive.
