What a beautiful bball night. And I am a horrible fan because I got angry and switched it off with 30secs to go down 4. =__=
Mavs are enjoying a flukey start to the year. This is reminiscent of a few years ago when the Mavs acquired OJ Mayo and they also started better than anybody expected. Remember people were saying that OJ Mayo was better than James Harden for a while. Mavs will fall back down to earth and miss the Playoffs.
Great night of basketball. Spurs destroy sixers. John wall showed up. Great finish by the Suns and bucks. Stupid twolves couldn't finish off clips. Lakers still suck. Nice Dirk/Porzingis duel.
Whats got me thinking is how does Karl Anthony as an nba player not know as much as some of us watching? Mini last 10 seconds was a mess. Lac was up 3 and mini had the ball, they kept fouling mini everytime to prevent a 3. Now, even the lac broadcast were saying the player fouled from mini should miss the second ft on Deandre Jordan's side so they could foul him instead of Jj or Crawford getting the ball and shooting the ft. How is that not a game plan for mini? Rubio tries to heave the ball beyond half court to try and get 3 shots as he saw rivers approach him, it looked like it should of been the right call but supposedly since that is not a "normal shot" a player would take they dismissed it.... Nba in a nutshell And second to finish my point about Karl A, after Rubio made the two fts, how does Karl not know you can not foul a player off the ball? They inbound the ball to JJ but he goes and fouls Deandre immedietly. Giving la the ft and ball back. Could it be he did it because it looked like they were struggling to chase down JJ as he was running away? Maybe but the play he made have them a worse chance to stay in the game...
He's a 19 y.o rookie with only very limited experience and even more limited in clutch last minute situations when the game is on the line. "We" might think we know what should be done, but thinking it and executing it are two very different things. That's the life of young teams, they make a lot of mistakes. Fans need patience. KAT has proven to be far more ready and able to contribute than any other rookie so far. He has been amazing.
I think it was a split second wrong decision where he acted before thinking. You could see him beating himself up on the bench afterward.
The Clippers broadcast was wrong, there's no need to miss the free throw, you can foul DJ the moment the ball leaves Rubio's hand and the free throw still counts (Chris Paul did this rather comically last season to Dwight, DJ missed anyway). JVG has been saying it for years too, the play becomes live for any player in the 5 rebounding spots the moment it leaves the shooters hand.
Do not forget this season Mavs have played 17 Road games and only 11 home games....they have a stretch where 7 of the next 10 are at home so that will show who they really are
