Usually, this type of record would belong to a league-leading team. Thanks to the historic run by GSW, Spurs are flying under the radar.
I've always rooted for the Spurs when the rockets are done in the playoffs. Duncan's one of my favorite players ever.
If you mean 18-4 usually leads the league, not really. It's quite common that there are multiple teams with equal or better starts. Still impressive, yes. Both MEM and GSW had better starts. MEM was 21-4 The Rockets started 16-4 and then 19-5
People always say how under the radar the Spurs are yet so many people make an effort to say how good the Spurs always are. They're obviously not media darlings like the Warriors, but yeah...we know the Spurs are contenders.
why hate on the current spurs? you can argue with bowen they were dirty as hell but the current spurs team is incredible, a definition of how basketball should be played... guess jealous is a dangerous drug...how I will the rox could of accomplished half of what the spurs have done over the past decade
It's easy to like the Spurs because although they have had a lot of success, they aren't overpowered. Fans hate overpowered teams (i.e., Miami with the big three). I don't know if the warriors are overpowered, but they definitely would be if they got Durant. I could see a lot of people hating them if that happened.
I for one don't think the Spurs are really that scary despite of their record. Duncan is finally showing his age. LaMarcus hasn't lived up to the hype. Kawhi is their No. 1 guy now and I have my doubts how far he can carry them in the playoffs. All this maybe a moot point since I just don't see anyone beating the Warriors this year unless Curry suffers a major injury.
