I have a smart TV myself, but it's an older LG. The quality and performance of the streaming apps like Netflix and YouTube and such is just a far far better experience for me that I'd only really use the TV functions as a last resort. Some of the newer TVs probably close that gap, but I doubt the various firmware of manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, LG, etc. will ever have quite the level of support that a console or dedicated streaming box would.
Where did you hear that? I know they're remaking black op 1. I just want modern warefare 2 or 1 so badly.
Oh, hmm. Yeah it sounds like a problem that's specific to that TV from the way you're describing it. Basically the only possible fix is the one you described which is Standby mode. I usually always keep mine on Standby mode, but I've never really had to deal with that.
Just a heads up, Microsoft is having a one day sale on a few Xbox One titles: Black Ops III - $29.99 Star Wars Battlefront - $29.99 Rise of the Tomb Raider - $39.99 + others http://www.microsoftstore.com/store...2_Days_Day6_A_12-6-15_TodaysDeal_ShopNow_HPC1 Edit: I think the big names are sold out online. I may go to the Galleria Microsoft store to see if they have anything
DF22…I noticed you said you were considering Forza Horizon 2…that's one of my favorite games over the last few years. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved Burnout Paradise…so I would think this would be fun for you too.
Has anyone played The Rise of the Tomb Raider? I've recently talked to a few people and they have all said that it's a great game.
Im about an hour into it and I love it. Basically continues the same goodness from the reboot a couple years back.
Thanks, I'll put it on my wishlist and wait for a good price while I think about it. May get Forza 6 instead. Probably not both... but it's been quite a number of years since I played a good driving game, so I'm probably due to give one of them a shot.
Yeah, cant go wrong with either. I like the Forza Horizon series because there is more variety with the race types, challenges, map exploration, etc... Either way, just wait it out until a good deal is available. If I had the physical copy, I would just let you borrow it for a few months until you were ready to move on...that's where going digital sucks.
Are there any Burnout-like "takedowns" or anything in Horizon? Or is forcing competitors to crash not really a thing? EDIT: Oh, and failing that, is there car damage and/or tire wear at all? I know I tend to like racing games that either have some kind of combat element (driving people off the road in NFS or avoiding the cops, or forcing crashes in Burnout), OR realistic damage & tire wear. In other words really sim or really arcade.
With Forza 6, you can get as simulation as possible, but running people off the road is really not part of the game play unless you just want to screw around for fun. With Forza Horizon, there is definitely more action as far as competing for positioning. You wont get the Burnout type of collisions, but at least there is a little bit more action to it, in that you can definitely bump and push your way to advance your position. You also get simulation components just like Forza. Forza 6 offers incredible, pure simulation style racing...my issues with that are that after an X amount of time, it becomes repetitive to go around in circles. I had Forza 5 (have not played Forza 6), but I would assume it's no different in that regard. With Forza Horizon 2, you get to race on tracks, streets, off road, etc... There is also a very good online component to it as well. In addition, there is a very large map that you can explore and find hidden things...for instance, you'll find a barn that has a classic car in it. You fix up the car and it's yours. Little things like that extend how much time you will play the game before moving on to another game.
My Xbox One is collecting dust. I unhooked it and moved it off my desk a while back because it was just in the way.
Is it because you dont have time to play, arent in the mood to play, or dont find any games interesting enough to play?
So are there any games out that are considered "NEXT GEN" yet? Everything I have seemed to have played now I wouldn't be able to tell you if I was on Xbox One, PS4 or a 360. The new Star Wars Battle front i got to play on the 10 hour trial and I didn't take that much time to notice it was just a multi player Titan Fall or any other this side vs that side online play. Luke, Vader and The emperor looked really dumb running around spinning the light sabers around. They looked like cardboard cut sometimes hoping about. Maybe I don't know what next gen is or just bad taste in games but it's like they don't won't to give a full complete game so we will get bored with it and buy the next with new maps. Here is what I have since I got a Xbox one: AC Black Flag and Unity- Loved the whole series but the Unity sucked. May have gone with PS4 bundle with the last of us if I didn't see that one Dragon Age Inquisition Daylight Demo Evolve - Not much playing time put into that one. I just sucked at times Metalgear solid V- seems okay just started it. Shadow of Mordor.- want to be open world but very repetitive. Ryse - a lot of spamming of buttons and very linear Star Wars Battle Front trial- Stat of Decay - Basic arcade game but enjoyable Titan Fall - Got old quick ...... I list some more but I have a Dr. visit I forgot about....
Maybe I'll give it a try again, it just seemed repetitive at times. I may have just sucked. I did like how the warlords would level up when it and his whole damn clan jumped me. I wish there were some games out there like the ones I had on PC: Star Wars empire at War - PC completely broke down shortly after playing it. Lord of the Rings War of the Ring was pretty fun. Wold in Conflict was fun too, kind of like War of the Ring and Halo Wars. I'll give Forza 6 a try too.
