meh.....Harden's a great player...not a great judge of basketball talent or character. He seems to have a problem surrounding himself with guys that are questionable on both counts.
Exactly. Warren and Booker are not throw ins. Phoenix is not dealing them similar to how Morey is not dealing Capela. Guys like Tucker or Leuer could be thrown in with Morris but I really don't see how that type of deal would radically improve the Rox.

My gut feeling is that Markieff is a smoke screen for a shooter. He might be a backup plan as a 4. I don't think we need him on the Rockets.
Good, try and get the best deal for him. If Jones was a consistent player on both ends of the floor, I wouldn't want to trade him.
Oh okay. But would that really make difference? Spoiled because off topic. Spoiler Let's look at what the cap space would look like with a deal like that for next season, with rough rounding. Harden - 16.8 Ariza - 7.8 Markieff - 7.4 Beverley - 6 Motie cap hold - 5.8 Capela - 1.3 + 3.5 million in roster cap holds = 48.6 million. Which would leave us with roughly 40 million to re-sign Howard and another star. We could still make moves though, Motie has a waive-able 6 million dollar cap hold, and we could always trade Bev or Ariza depending on which position the start we try to bring in plays, depending on which moves we made with thoss 3 we we would have anywhere from 46 - 60 million in cap space. Overall my point is, is that salary wise I see trading for Morris as a smart move. I don't see him hurting our chances at signing a star, and why not lock up a 25 year old role player at a position of need for a very fair contract going forward.
Why not Booker? He would be exactly what the Rockets need. Jones and Brewer and Dekker for Booker and Morris? I don't know if that works.
Shooters are probably the most valued commodity in the NBA right now. I don't think that we have the assets to get them, and I suspect that is part of why Morey has had difficulty trading for them.
I think Morris is better than he's played this season, and is ultimately a better player than TJones. More aware defender, better shooter, and better playmaker. Having said that, I prefer Ilyasova, Marvin Williams, or Ryan Anderson, all of whom are on expiring/non-guaranteed contracts and are better shooters.
Lateral move? Seriously I don't comprehend how you can say this. Markieff is NOT happy in Phoenix and probably knows his days are numbered. I would assume that's the major contributor to his poor numbers. But skillet wise he could turn out to be the best PF on the roster if here. People forget just a year ago he was a top player and clutch performer in Phoenix. No way T. Jones is close to the same player lol
Trade him ASAFHP before he gets another one of his weirdass Terrence Jones injuries and before other teams scout how fond he is of crouching low to the ground.
I don't doubt that. I feel Morey will settle for a 35 percent 3 point shooter, if there is a backlog on a team. He will need a fair amount of luck to pull it off.
The biggest difference with Markieff is he's a heavy mid-range shooter. 45% of his shots last year were mid-range. Harden took the most mid-range shots on the Rockets, but that still only made up 22% of his shots. Here's the 8 big men that attempted at least 500 mid-range shots last year : Dirk: 47% Vucevic: 46% Morris: 46% P Gasol: 44% Davis: 44% M Gasol: 42% LMA: 41% Griffin: 41% Make of that what you will, but I think it's reasonable to say that he's a good mid-range shooter.
