The speech was top shelf. He knows a ground war would be a disaster, same outcome as Iraq. He also challenged moderate Muslims to do more. One of his better speeches for sure.

Why do you want the president to be a theologian?

You think DEVGRU before they perform a helo raid on an ISIS compound are confused who the target is because Obama didn't tell the American public that Islam is the enemy.

Not too many things to knock the evil, black, kenyan, socialist, communist, atheist, muslim, president on these days besides buzzword phrases like "poor leader". They have to resort to these kinds of child's play.

CBS News floored by Obama's brilliance, had to meme it for him

Are you enamored by Faux News' brilliance when they call Obama a "weak leader" without going in depth on what foreign policy positions make him a weak leader, and give absolutely no alternative on what they or any of their candidates would do? You have to be consistent here...

There already is a ground war. It is just not sufficiently staffed to win at this point, which is why the self proclaimed Islamic State is increasing in power:

Not one of the republican candidates has a solution. They want to put 100,000 troops on the ground, they know the American public doesn't want that. It would take that many because u have occupy the territory u take. We know how that goes over time. Arab countries have to do this with boot on the ground.

We had Iraq "contained" (lol using Obama's word) until Obama triumphantly pulled our troops out.

They do not want increasing numbers and severity of terrorist attacks here in our country and around the world either.

It just goes to show, you can't always get what you want. Sometimes, you have to focus on getting what you need. We need for these people who we are clearly at war with to be operationally destroyed. And it clearly appears that the Muslims they are surrounded and supported by in the Middle East are not going to be sufficiently committed to this task to get it done on their own.

We can do this there, or we can do this here. You decide.

Typical right wing fear-mongering right here. This is the exact same argument that was used to justify invading Iraq and we all know how that worked out. So what's the long-term game plan this time? Are we going to spend trillions of dollars and then pull our troops out in a decade only to have the region plunge right back into chaos the second we leave or are we going to play the long game and spend trillions upon trillions of dollars only to have the same exact outcome when we pull out after 30 years as opposed to only 10? Also, just as a reminder, don't forget to simultaneously b**** and moan about how much money the federal government is spending while all of this is going on, unless there's a Republican president in charge, of course.

It appears that Americans do want to send in ground troops (which in fact are already there and fighting in small numbers) as they are realizing that we need to do this and that as undesirable as this option is, it is preferable to the alternative.

    From CNN:

Obama could have worked to revisit it. The "blame Bush" excuse fell flat years ago.

(the new excuse is "Climate change"! ...get with the program)

It's almost as if they're following contemporary design standards.

You know Internet UI has moved on from Drudge, right?
