Do you think they operate without currency because they have 'socialist' in the name?

Besides, regular dues are $50 a year. Netflix costs more than that. And they have dues as low as $20 for low income and students. I don't think anybody is getting rich on that. It might cover the photocopying and a folding chair.

The point of Jesus's life on Earth was to tell us that we aren't slaves to human nature; that selfless dedication to others without ego, envy or greed is the only path toward inner peace and salvation.

For the life of me I can't see how people pervert Christianity so easily. The message is pretty clear.

That's why it's laugh worthy. Do you realize the $ amount going to the capitalist parties? $50, jeez.

And it's amazing how close that message is to the Buddha's message. No wonder there are many devoted Christian who are also Buddhists.

Yes the message is very clear but you missed it by a mile. Salvation comes from the grace of God when someone believes in Jesus, who he is(the son of God) and what he did (die on the cross for all of our sins). No amount of selfless dedication to others (works) will save you or anyone without first accepting Jesus. You cannot earn your way to Heaven.

How can you 'believe' in Jesus and discount what he says? If you think the mega-church mentality of all words and no action is what Jesus was talking about you are just deluding yourself for your own convenience. You have to commit yourself to your fellow man to the point of sacrificing your own comfort knowing your rewards are in Heaven.

Do you think he died on the cross just to give people a 'get out hell free' pass without striving to live up his words? That's not 'believing'
that's taking advantage, "whoopee I believe in Jesus so I don't actually have to try tp do what he said"

Christian Conservative Convenience, the willful delusion

the flaw with that thinking is that tithing with other people's money is not virtuous, and certainly not a Christian virtue

So do you put your own money where your mouth is or just other peoples money??? I highly doubt you even know most of what Jesus said other than a few cherry picked verses that you take out of context. That is typical for liberals who try to use a few cherry picked words of Jesus with absolutely no understanding of the context all the while missing the entire point of his coming. Maybe you should start at Genesis 1:1 and read the entire Bible.

YOu can kill, rape, and pillage so long as you accept Jesus right, and still get a ticket to Heaven...but the guy who dedicates their lives to helping others goes to hell! You're interpretation of Christianity is kinda sad.

Christianity is nothing about what other people do, it's all about what you strive to do. Going way out of your way to help other people without judging them is a good start. How do the political beliefs you espouse align with that?

Sweet Lou, I would not expect you to understand this but when a person truly becomes a Christian by accepting Jesus, they are endowed with the Holy Spirit which changes them. That is not to say that some people may claim to be Christians and still do the things you spoke of but highly doubt they truly are. I am sorry but nobody can earn their way into Heaven with works. Christians normally do perform good works after they are saved but the works are not what gets them into heaven it was being saved by accepting Jesus in the first place.

Bingo. It's the change that occurs after accepting Jesus. No, you can't keep killing, raping, and stealing after accepting Jesus. If you accept Him, gradually a person will be free. It's a daily battle of which a person has to keep seeking Christ through His word.

You are correct in a way but what I believe that you fail to understand is that by truly accepting Jesus it changes you. You are endowed with the Holy Spirit. The good works you do come from the spirit. The works are not what saves you but rather you do good works because you are saved already.

My political beliefs align very well with Christian principles. I do my part to help others with my own time and money. Liberals want to help others with other peoples money which is not a Christian principle. Besides that, if you want to compare the different political beliefs and how they align with Christianity, I assure that murdering babies and gay marriage are not Christian principles.

A concept of Christianity that did not exist for the first 600 years of the faith... However it has proven quite useful for those that do not wish to embrace a level of selflessness that is not easy follow and for those that wish to use institutional means to justify actions that otherwise would be readily questioned.

Please enlighten us what level of selflessness is not easy to follow? It is a dumb misconception you keep putting out there that you think we won't go blood, sweat, and tears for others.

This argument doesn't need to start again, if your heart won't open.

It seems like the more white privilege is threatened the more crazy they become. It's so stark.

For centuries the ruling class were as cool as cucumbers, now every republican talk radio station has lost their every loving mind. And the sky is falling.
