And if you guys ever met Josh Smith, yes he's not a high IQ player or maybe not even person, but he's actually a really nice dude. Like if Lakers fan met Smush Parker, they wouldn't hate on the guy so much.

Smith actually is really easy to talk to, pretty soft spoken doesn't get caught up in this social media hoopla. Is he the smartest player? Nah, is he as athletic as he was in his prime nah? Is he a great chemistry guy that can still rebound very well, playmake above avg for his positon? Yes.

I was anti-Josh smith, but once we got him I was extremely happy. He's seriously just a good dude.

Unlikely. But Josh has the 2nd highest usage on the Rockets in both the playoff and regular season. He was the 2nd play maker. His replacement for that role has been worse than zero.

Where's your evidence that happened? I mean, when PG did it with Hibbert it was all over the internet, but I can't find anything to support that.

Not saying you're wrong, but that's the first I ever heard of that (doesn't mean it's not true).

Where's the evidence that McHale lost the team?

Like the quotes from players and such, not their actual play lol.

I can't provide you hard evidence, but believe what you want. There's a reason Team Kardashian issued a statement of Harden being a player and it being planted all at this particular time. Go ask Alexandria yourself, that's what set this all in motion. People think KJ being re-signed, then Josh leaving meant Ty would be traded for lol. No, KJ's agent thought he could get a 1-year tender offer much higher, didn't happen. Once he settled, Josh left and Ty came here but why Josh left and why the Clippers is his personal reason.

He could've gone to the Raptors or Wizards, he chose the Clippers.

Just asking, bro. It's just the first I ever heard of that theory. That doesn't make it any more or less true.

    It wouldn't shock me, though.

Rockets run a very, very tight ship. Stuff doesn't "leak out".

Smith left because Morey was more concerned with retaining KJ than making a real offer to JSmith - he felt slighted - he left.

I can see where this might be a prob for Dwight (since they are buddies), but see no reason why Harden should have the crappy dgaf attitude.... He got the guard help he wanted....

I could see this being a divisive element between Harden and D12 and possibly others... but I see no reason for Harden to be a little b****...

You really think Smith left because of that?

And do you really think Smith leaving meant all of this commotion here? I mean this stems from a hatred among players, do you see it's not just Dwight/Harden. It's everyone, it's everyone from Bev, Terry, etc. The only's professional about this all are the one's the most to lose(Capela, Thornton).

You can take it for what it's worth, but James tried to **** Josh Smith's wife. I can't confirm if he actually did or not, but he made a strong play. Stronger than Karl Malone on Kobe Bryant's little mexican girl wife thing.

That was the nail in the coffin for Smith and the chemistry, he just befriended a guy who EVERYBODY liked. We didn't like his game at sometimes, but you would enjoy Josh for who he has whether your Bill Worell or the ballboy.

All I know is right now I'd take josh smith over Terrance jones and ty Lawson. for a team that does nothing if not draft forwards they have a hole at the 4.

Idk any of this Harden trying to do Joshs wife... first ive heard of it is today...

But, from what i recollect, JSmith wanted to return... and he waited for an offer and waited and waited... and got offered the min because DM didnt want to give up any flexibility so he could match for KJ if needed... sending the message that someone who did nothing was more important to him than Joshs contribution...

Not sure if any of this is true but with the way the team's chemistry has fallen apart, it sure seems like it could be plausible.

We need to find out how the Spurs kept everything together after Tony Parker banged Bones Barry's wife.

Damn Spurs, always doing things better than us...

Actually Josh signed with the Clippers (7/17) BEFORE KJ got re-signed (7/19)...
so Josh was never offered more than the min by us... and if yer gonna play for the min would you rather do so for a team that makes you a priority (even at the min) or by the team that you busted yer butt for that puts you behind an unproven second year player who hasnt done anything...

Raptors? Wizards? or Clips? Where would you rather live...your Detroit money is coming either way... ;)

You seem to know some insider info of course. I had always thought kjayp's theory was likely. It does seem weird that Josh wouldn't beat Harden's a$$. Seems sissy-ish and un-Josh-like to just whimper in private & pack up for LA.

His wife does put Khloe to shame, no doubt.

You're looking at official signing dates, not when decisions were made.

Anybody else find it ironic that if you were to tell someone a year ago that Josh Smith was a chemistry piece that a contending team shouldn't have lost, you'd laugh in their face while launching a Josh Smith-esque unwarranted three pointer?

Josh Smith doesn't have the reputation of a chemistry guy. And why would the teammates care so much about a rental player who came in the middle of the season with no guarantee to stay after the season?

From espn on the Clippers signing of Josh Smith..

The Clippers' charmed past 10 days continued Thursday as they signed Smith for the veterans minimum, the most they could offer him as a taxpaying team. According to ESPN's Calvin Watkins, the Rockets offered Smith $2.5 million to return -- the highest amount possible without dipping into their midlevel exception, which would have left them vulnerable to losing restricted free agent K.J. McDaniels. From Smith's standpoint, the difference in salary was just $500,000 because half of the amount he makes above the minimum salary for a one-year veteran is taken out of what he gets from the Detroit Pistons, who waived him last December.

If James is boning Josh's wife... why is DM offering 2.5M?
