And please do tell why BKN would be interested in Bev? He's not even a starting caliber PG. He's not worth Bogdanovic on his own even with Bogdanovic in a shooting slump.

Morey is doing right by exploring Ty Lwasons trade value. We'll never know what we could end up with if we don't try. Either way if our season goes south I'd rather it be with Morey swinging left and right getting rid of some of the trash!

Don't forget though that Morey was the one who brought in the so called trash LOL.

Ummmm, you're torquing my post into me saying Boston may want Lawson. I never said that. What I said was we may be able to get a better player from Boston than what we can get from the Nets in a Lawson trade. Ainge may be willing to take Jones for instance and give us back...say....a straight Jones for Zeller swap....on Dec. 11th....just to spoil Brooklyn's Kirilenko TPE. This in turn makes it more difficult for Brooklyn to crawl out of a hole because it further limits their trade flexibility going forward. Look at Brooklyn's roster. There's not too much they're going to be able to do there to make that team better. Practically impossible to move Lopez. Joe Johnson's salary is so high, even though it's expiring, that it'll be very difficult for them to make a deal that makes them better immediately.

There's several trade combinations with Boston that might come into play if Ainge can make a deal, and only lose a little bit, while denying the Nets the use of that Kirilenko TPE and limiting their future trade flexibility.

I can't imagine his trade value is very high right now. It was higher in the off season. He has been terrible this season.

Ainge has positioned his team to have 60 million capspace next offseason to be able to be a player in next year FA/trades. Brewer's salary is a very big burden to him.
If he didn't care for longterm salary he wouldn't have made Johnson's salary ung for next year. He fully plans lure someone big there or do something with his picks in a trade.

Also I think that Zeller's value has plummeted and his continuing DNP CD makes it worse by the day in combination that he's in his contract year. I wouldnt' be surpsised if he and his agent request a trade pretty soon if they hadn't already and it wasn't leaked. I think a JOnes for Zeller deal can happen anyway without having to take on Brew by Ainge.
Aige has also to be very careful with his roster spots. He can't afford to add as many rookies as he is looking to add next year. He has to make a LOT of trades and release. Brew's roster spot in combination with his long term salary and his godawful on court perfomance and his age, makes him a toxic asset.
Can't see such a good GM as Ainge falling for it.

Exactly! And at the price we paid I don't see why posters want to hold on to him since he's not working out for us. We should try to use what ever value he has, which should be more since he waived his player option for next year on his contract. A package of Ty Lawson, Terrence Jones and fillers maybe a 2nd round pick. Should net us some thing that helps us now or in the future.

I just think it's a good that Morey is being proactive.

I modified my post and took Brew out. You missed that. However there are other combinations involving Brewer that we may be able to get Ainge to go for in order for us not to go to the Nets. Jerebko, Turner, Zeller are all players most likely not in Boston's future.

Yup they aren't. And if they aren't Brew wont' be either. Because brew right now has a top 10 worst value in the league.

The chances that Bkn will even have a top 3 pick are very low. What's the point for Boston to add Brew just to have a top 8 pick. The draft is weak except for the top prize the no.1 seed.
But adding Brew does take out Boston from a lot of trades it can make.
As much as Ainge would prefer the Nets not to be involved in any trade that will make them get a pg, don't see it as incentive enough to get back such a godawful contract.

Quite frankly I dont' see ANY team in the league that will show any interest taking back Brew without hefty compensation. The imaginary improvement of a pick that may or may not happen from top5 to top8 is not enough.
Chances are that Bkn will begun raising in the standings as soon as teams like Magic, Denver, Portland, Minny, Milwaukee, Detroit, Sacramento will start joining the tanking.
They got no incentive to tank and they wont'. They will go for the wins when their opponents dont give two damns.

Ty Lawson has been an above average - borderline all star PG for ~350 NBA games. He's struggled with the Rockets for 17. I'd rather bet what's left of the season on him becoming an effective PG for us rather than assume we can get something for him in a trade that will turn our season around.

Jack and Bogdandandadkv won't make this team a contender. Until the players we have now sack up and play both sides of the ball it doesn't matter who we trade for.
