Sources: Rockets discussing Lawson for J Jack + Bogdanovic

I don't see Ty being traded yet but I do see the Rockets rebuilding the 2nd unit. Maybe give Ty some options to pass the ball to. So that they can open up the floor. That is the only thing that makes sense at this point. Maybe a Bogdanovic for Tjones trade with the Rockets throwing in one of our trade exceptions. What we need now are shooters and defenders. This way we give Ty some time to regain his confidence and trade value if it's still not working. That way we can package him with Brewer at a later date if needed. Bringing in Bogdanovic allows us to sit Brewer

All bs! Wake up people. The ONLY team that may be interested to trade for Lawson is the Nets. Noone else. I read in another thread that "because he made his next year ung he is now not a high risk player"

Lawson is a HIGH risk player that is paid a LOT and requires a lot of $ sent back to match salaries. He hasn't even been suspended yet for his FIRST DUI and has another coming up.
Wake up finally and face the harsh reality.
There is only one team in the NBA that is not rebuilding or contending or has their pick. And that is the Nets. That's why they would be interested in Lawson. Any other team? They will need compensation to add him in their lockerooms.

And compared to Brewer? Lawson is worth 10 times more.

 

LOLs, Bogdanovic had his best game against us. And no, Harden didn't guard him.

6'8 SG with handles, can drive and had range (last year). He's pretty confident looking catching a pass at the arc and driving on contested looks.

Maybe we can call him a less athletic Parsons? Probably can play some SF. Now nothing about his defense.

Excellent post, repped. Thanx for breaking down Brooklyn's cap situation and now we have a definite timeline in front of us.
But I disagree. I find you extremely optimistic on how much the pressure of the bkn pick can make Ainge take on such salary. First of all the Lakers and the 6ers are in much better tank condition to claim the first pick, the grand prize of this draft. Secondly the Nets even if they don't such a trade, they won't give up and start tanking in the second half of the year like a LOT of other teams precisely because they dont' have their pick. Hopes for a top5 pick are wildly optimistic in the first place.
Secondly Ainge and his coach (his input he holds in very high regard and wants to keep him happy) pay attention a lot on their players attitudes. If you think that Ainge can be blackmailed/tempted to add Lawson I have to say you are living in the clouds. It will 100% create a problem with IT (already had problems everywhere in all his carreer with other pgs who got his job). Lawson doesn't fit the gritty grinding style that Boston plays now.
Not to mention they have three other guard players that barely get any playing time that the Celtics want to develop them. (Young, Rozier, and RJ. HUnter that doesn't get enough playing time). Adding Lawson will make things much worse on an attempt to sabotage BKN that is doomed in the first place. You can make a team tank when they have no incentive. And in March-end of season there will be plenty tanking teams BKN will be playing against.

 

He can play SF. He's a streaky shooter. He's NOT a 25% 3point shooter as people are saying here. The sample is extremely small. If he had just 4 makes it would raise his % to normal.
He can't guard any wing. He's a bad defender.

too early to trade Ty....This same thing happened to MIA and CLE when they made biq changes to the lineup. Most who want to jump ship are bandwagon fans and should be traded themselves!!!

It takes time to develop chemistry and Lawson is not the problem. Its a team effort and the filth they throw on the court night after night isn't going to cut it.

 

Ty Lawson looked really good last game. I wonders how much of it has to do with his junaurary coart date.

 

This trade doesn't even make me yawn!!! ...

He finally showed some improvement in the last game. Morey should retain
him and the coaching staff should help him to regain confidence.

These leaks are not good for Lawson or for the Rockets.

too early....yeah ok. Did you read bballholic's post? The time to trade Lawson is not dependant on only the Rockets when there is literaly only one team interested in him. TPE's expire and without them you can't match salaries.
If they expire a trade may not be possible at all and then you will be left with Lawson and can't trade him for nothing and if he can't still contribute you lost a first and can't even show anything on the court for it.

 

Lawson has been a consistent producer in the NBA for years now. I think it's an indictment of our coaching staff that we haven't been able to get more out of him. He might still have value to another team.

Terrence Jones? I'd trade him for a bag of donuts. An under-sized power forward who gets muscled in the paint and is afraid to shoot. If I see another pump fake from him at the 3-point line I will vomit.

 

He's a minus defender and he's in a massive shooting slump, I don't see him moving the needle too much, but maybe he thrives in a run-and-gun "system" like Smoove and Brewer (last year) did.

Jack is definitely a short term upgrade over Lawson, but I still have a hard time believing that Lawson is done for good. He was excellent two years ago and decent last year.
