I never understand why people use w/l records like this. The correct way to say it is: We are 4-6 with Dwight AND Capela We are 1-4 with only Capela Saying it the other way is meaningless and reeks of trying to find an answer where one doesn't exist.
The only way forward is to get Lawson going- he can make the offense dynamic. Beverly has regressed defensively and Terry played PG during the Warren Harding Administration.
Coach Phil Jackson was able to change a very selfish player by the name of Michael Jordan. So we can hire a coach who could help change Harden's mentality. It is possible.
First off, you can tame a Lion, but almost never motivate or drive a fire inside a p***y cat. Harden doesn't have that fire...people need to accept that. Players with fire continue to work on their games and don't take losses as lightly as he does by partying the night before and after. Players with fire don't give up on possessions or games the second they think it isn't going in their favor. PJ couldn't really help Harden even if he wanted to. The best way to help him is to give him the harsh treatment like Pop does to his players.
I really wish it were different honestly, but I've come to accept Harden for who he is. There is actually a bright side to this doe! If this year doesn't work out we could finally draft top talent again.
The right coaching will do wonders for Harden. There's a reason why he gave a lot of credit to coach K and Thibs for his season last year.
near the end of the reg season last season? brewer was in a slump, the team was in a slump. then smith suddenly clicked and the rockets started to roll again. this is the same team from last season when they were in a rut but worse because of the backcourt defensive problems. morey's first move should have been to trade for a pg, and not a pr move. a fastbreak team is going to lose a chunk of their attack without defense. no defense = no fastbreak.
You need older chemistry guys...Terry alone isn't enough. We had Garcia/Pablo/Smith that were hustle type guys and good voices in the locker room.
I agree with this. We don't really have any loud respected vets on this team. Hayes was worth his spot for that alone. Oh well
When a 40 yr old PG's defense, when he wasn't getting burnt, made this team better... You know the options they have now just aren't working. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/rTLCUMAU5i4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
There may be something to this. I wouldn't say Harden is a lost cause as far as motivation is concerned.
didnt read the whole thread but im pretty sure that 'not the same group' is just a way of saying 'last season is irrelevant.' its a positive message about getting to work fixing the team.
Can't believe I read all 18 pages and am no closer to understanding the core problems. So many possible theories raised. I'm so damn depressed now after reading all of that.
