Isn't Thibs still getting paid by Chicago? Would he lose that if he takes a coaching job this season?

There is hope after all if true.

Only way Thibs joins the Rockets is if Morey gives up a substantial power. Thibs wants control.

Who is Les ready to hitch his immediate success to? Thibs or Harden? I dont think they can coexist so if Thibs did come here I'd say Hardens days would be numbered.

Harden would score over 30 points a game with Thibs as his coach.

If the Rockets didn't respect McHale, there is no way they respect Bickerstaff.

He is thought of very, very highly by Les and Morey. That's all I got.

Yeah, he is probably the best defensive coach since they switched to a net instead of a peach basket.

Thibs is a top 2-4 coach in the game.

However Thibs wants a level of control I find unlikely Morey would give up long term.

Well in that case Morey needs to be reigned in by Les. If Morey doesn't give in he can get fired too.

    1. Does your cousin really know what Thibs looks like?

    2. How does this make Les look, after saying he'd give JB the job for the season? He wants to win that badly? So wouldn't Thibs have to worry about his job, if he doesn't turn things around immediately? Would he want that pressure?

Would be odd to be looking at homes without ANY substantial rumors regarding Thibs-Rox interest. However, for those that aren't huge Thibs fans, what out there is better? He had 1 year of dominant Rose. Outside of that, Rose was either injured or a shell of his former self. And outside of Rose, that team pretty much stunk offensively. What we need is a coach that can instill some discipline in these guys. Freaking run through a pick (Lawson), hustle back on the break (everybody), STOP BALL WATCHING (Harden).

Thibs would be the guy, IMO, for this crew. I love JVG, but I think he's been out too long.

Please inform me what JB has done to EARN this job....forget about his 1-3 record which should be 0-4....HE was in charge of the defense that was and still is considered the joke of the NBA and why we have the 5th worst record in the league. He has a policy for himself to not question ref calls during games, so we are getting abused by the refs (as if we don't already have enough other challenges). To my knowledge he has never head coached before (other than summer league games)....not even pee wee basketball. Not seeing how Thibs or any other coach outside of this failing staff could be any worse.

Thibs could coach any group of players and do a good job.

If the Rockets are targeting Thibs, they need to keep Lawson and see what Thibs can get out of him.

Even with an Offensive minded coach, he'll get you open/better opportunities but if you aren't making them count. That falls on you, and the other not-offensive minded team can eventually outscore you.
Defensive coaches structure their system to cause turnovers for easy transition points. That's the key to their offense. While the defense is running even if you have a scoring drought, you can't neutralize the other team so you don't take yourself out the game
Now the problem with that, is last minute situation plays. How well said coach can draw up a play to win them the game.

He would look like he replaced a nobody assistant coach for an actual NBA coach

I dont think this can reflect badly on Les in anyway given how little success Bikerstaff has brought so far.
