Lin's turnovers tonight were less his own-boneheadedness and just the superb stealing ability of John Wall. The Wizards players are really good at getting their hands on balls. Charlotte leads the league in fewest turnovers yet had 19 t/o's tonight.
You have to understand something about that. The guys listed above are shooters. Lin is, primarily, a driver. What a driver is is a guy who is able to beat his man off the dribble then charges from the three point line to the basket, all the while weaving through the trees, and trying not to let converging defenders get their hands on the ball. LIn's handles this year are actually much better than last year. He worked with the professor in the offseason. When a player "drives" he is from time to time going to get the ball stolen and he is going to get your shot blocked and he is going to be assessed with charges. That's what happens with "drivers". Marcus Thornton is a spot up 3 guy...of course he isn't going to turn the ball over that much.
On Charlotte, the playmakers are Batum and Walker, in that order. From time to time Lin also will be called upon to play some point. Yes, I understand the assist to turnover ratio concept. Coming into tonight's game, Lin's turnovers were at an all time low (below 2.0 a game, usually he's well over 2.0). However, even though Lin's to's are down, so are his assists (b/c when he plays with the second unit Batum usually plays the point and when he plays in the fourth to close out games, Walker and Batum run the point). All of Lin's turnovers tonight were on drives, not errant passes. Those are good type turnovers. When you drive you either 1) have opportunity for a high percentage bucket; 2) get the ball stripped; or 3) you get fouled. Lin leads the team in fouls against, btw.
So, what you are saying is Lin is being told not to pass anymore...that he's not an NBA PG. Do I have that right?
Batum had 11 assists tonight and just in general is playing like an all star. He won Eastern Conference player of the week last week. Walker is vastly improved from last season. Lin is not as good as those guys. Walker and Batum deserve to run the show, not Lin. Lin is playing well (except for his jump shot isn't falling for s*** right now) but those other games are playing like all stars. Right now Lin is in for his defense and for his offensive ability as a sidenote to the two aforementioned. In the Charlotte offense he doesn't have to playmake.
Ha, got you to say it. Ironic, that this is what many Rockets fans said when he was here, but LOFs insisted he be the starter and primary playmaker to get his PnR stats going versus Harden, Parsons and Howard in the low block. I guess we knew something that Lin fans didn't. I guess you didn't pick up on that I was leading you into a trap...to say what Lin's minor role in Charlotte is, like many have been saying his role should have been on the Rockets. He is not an NBA PG.
No, you really don't understand the concept. Total and average numbers, like turnovers, are a function of playing time and Lin's playing time is at an all-time low so your claim that Lin's turnovers are at an all-time low is typical LOF posturing. Your posts are characteristic of someone desperately trying to fit any statistics into your desired Jeremy Lin fantasy. In the past, the stats used for this fantasy were strictly offensive but those stats are pretty ugly now so you're trying to deflect and invent reasons why they're such. His shooting is at an all time low and as mentioned his assist to turnover ratio is the worst among qualifiers so now Lin is a shooting guard and a defensive stopper but he trained with the professor and he's got such great handles that Batum plays the point so Lin can be a driver with his great handles which is why he gets the ball stripped for turnovers so much and that's why his assist to turnover stinks even though his turnovers are at an all time low. Wait, what? Exactly. BTW. "When you drive" you are open to any number of possibilities including A PASS FOR AN ASSIST. You see "when you drive" from the three point line there is frequently a shift in the defense to the driver that leaves an offensive player open to receive a pass from the man driving the ball. Since you're a LOF that's new to basketball and has probably only played on XBOX, I'm glad I could break it down for you. Good turnovers. LOL.
This is wildly inaccurate. Lin is the best player on the Hornets roster, but the evil coach has been told by mean management to get shots for Kemba and Batum instead, because they are getting paid. It is incredibly humble of Lin to purposely turn the ball over in order to make them look good. In fact coach has instructed he to play like. Play so, lkke him, so he can him. See?

that's not true at all. When Bev was named the starter, it was done because Harden was ball dominant and the second unit needed a playmaker...this at least according to what McHale and Rockets management said at the time. Revisionist history turned it into "Bev outplayed Lin"...when in fact Lin was having a superb preseason when the decision was made. In LA, it was again a question of fit...unless you actually believe that Ronnie Price is a starting quality PG (which nobody does). Lin running the starting unit helped the Rockets win 46 games, and this was without Dwight and Ariza on the team (as well as with a lot of other players who were replaced with better players this year). Funny that Lin is currently playing fewer minutes in Charlotte than he did in Houston or LA, yet Lin fans are fine with it because the coach and his teammates appear to actually respect him.
Are you trying to tell Asian-Americans who they should view as their heroes? Btw...Asian-Americans do love Michael Chang. I remember when he won the French Open, it was amazing (even more amazing was the semi-final match that he beat Lendl with the underhand serve while his legs were cramping badly). But Jackie Robinson's story was about overcoming racial discrimination, and Michael Chang's success had nothing to do with overcoming racial discrimination.
It's funny, though, that when the media asks Kemba why the Hornets are playing so much better this year than last, the first two guys he always mentions are Lin and Batum.
Cringe!! Stick to english grammar. You`ve clearly exposed your lack of high analytical understanding in your mind.
Do you seriously think you can blatantly lie and get away with it? Took just one minute to gather these from the first page....Just a small sample. Many many more where these came from. In fact, the main theme despite the team winning tonight against the Wiz? Jeremy Lin is not getting minutes. *WAHHHH WAAAAHHH* Miserable lot and sad human beings, as always.
Gold star for you!!!! Happy...by the way culo....no one here is saying Lin needs to be the starting point guard.....most of us understand lin`s skill set and his strengths and weaskness as a player...we are fans of lin not lofs and just post when the inmates of tinsane asylum gets out of hand with their lies on lin and fans of lin.
Warning Everyone!!!! All the inmates of Tinsane Asylum are out to spread their lies and hate!! I'm going to enjoy my thanksgiving and watch some football plus have a feast!! See you all on the flip side!!
I hate to ask a stupid question, but where do these comments come from? serious question actually. These are absolutely hysterical. I wouldn't mind reading these from time to time for comic relief. Serious question, even if you pm me the site that's okay, so as not to spread the evil here.
