I'll tell you what is pathetic...JB's post game "analysis" where he summed it up this way "Our goal is to simplify"
I like JB, but you're throwing away anything and everything potentially salvageable about this season by not going out and hiring an actual coach. We obviously aren't making playoffs this season. The season is entirely about deciding how the team will be built and used going forward. Don't waste any time holding onto the remnants of the McHale era.
either hire a real coach and try to save the season or blow it up playing the middle like right now is never going to work
JB isn't they guy for the job either, he's as clueless as McHale. Better yet he's worse. LOL Capela only playing 8 minutes and Lawson 3. While Brewer and Thornton playing a combined 42 minutes, ( Brewer 27 and Thornton 15) playing straight up garbage.
Feel bad for Bickerstaff since he has no chance with these guys. This will be good experience for him in his future gig though. Hopefully he'll be in a better situation.
Watching the postgame interview, I feel sorry for Bickerstaff. The players should do it for him if for no one else. This could be his dream come true. I believe the team has the power to make this a great thing. But this feels like a disaster unfolding.
If you're going to clean house, you need to CLEAN HOUSE. There was no point in firing McHale without making systemic changes as well. At this point, McHale was nothing but a scapegoat. He was a bad coach, but he wasn't the total problem with this team. Blow. It. Up! If Bickerstaff wants any chance at keeping this job long term, he's going to need to do something different. He can't keep this team doing the same things that got Kevin McHale fired.
I am convinced the kept Bickerstaff to save money- because Les is a known cheapskate, so probably is pissed he is paying McHale and is saving money with his lackey. DD
Why would anybody do sh#t just for him? The dude wouldn't even have a career if his daddy didn't set him up with one.
This is the first game where Bickerstaff deserves to have some of the blame . His main mistake was not putting Harden back in after MEM got 5 fouls and commanding him to attack. We had a huge advantage at the beginning of the 4th and let it slip by.
No reason to bring in a new coach with a brand new system during the middle of the season. Rarely works that way. The future coach of the rockets will be brought in during the offseason, and Les will still be paying McHale's salary so he's not exactly cheap. Especially since they are sitting at the 9th highest salary in the league.
How the f*** is this guy not giving KJ at least an opportunity to show us something different? Like the current rotation is helping? Ariza and Brewer shouldn't be playing so many minutes if they can't hit a shot
